Remember, He and his wife had a little baby around the pandemic (before, during or after, I can't remember). I believe he may be taking a moment to just soak all of it in. When you become a dad in a pandemic, it really takes a toll on you and you start to see things differently. Trust me.😀

He said "...a weird past year..." and threw in "#lifeupdate". Sounds like he's got some personal factors leading to this move. I wish him the best.

New Head of Massive coming in October, wouldn't be surprised if most people already know who it is on the inside, might have another idea of where to focus efforts. Could have decided to make a break go to a different studio, maybe start his own. It does sound like he is sad to be leaving..... forced out?

my guess too. seems like they are doing a house cleaning at the studio

@@DADEFUYE respectfully disagree. This is standard whenever you have someone new coming in the heads of the department usually leave, either they take it to pursue other opportunities or they are unsure about the changes. Since we are seeing a combo of promotions and leaving I’m optimistic

Even if people are leaving i feel like its not completely the end they could always just hire new people that have the same talents as those who left and maybe just maybe future games can improve.

Let them leave, bring in fresh blood. The ones thus far have done a decent job but we need people who understand how to balance a game.

1800+ hrs in Division 2, love this game, probably always will. That being said I recently bought Borderlands 3 and WOW am I glad I gave that game a try, MUCH more complexity than Division and the attention to player comfort is night and day compared to Ubisoft.

I just hope that we get our new content this year and ubisoft don't cancel the project mid way , just like what the EA did to Anthem

my biggest fear too, when devs started leaving or getting relocated.

My Hope's for Massive and the Division is that they actually find Developers who can make Realistic Challenges in the game without, the easy, lazy Just Bullet Sponge the NPCs and Nerf the Player. That would be a great change, actual Challenging and well thought out game play. As for Xdefiant, I think it is a insult to the Tom Clancy Franchise and just being made to feed Ubisoft's greed, yes there has been a pandemic which has not only effected Massive and there profit margins but everyone in the vast majority of the world.

I'm surprised how tone deaf Ubisoft management has been towards what their fans want over the past few years. I'm optimistic about Heartland and upcoming content for The Division 2, but worried about the prospects of a Division 3 are with Massive so tied up with the Avatar game and the Star Wars game, and also whatever the fuck that XDefiant thing is going to be. I love The Division and I hope that guy can find somewhere where he can continue to make great games.

No need to make Drama.... A franchise is Not related to one Person.. That person could just have changed his Job coz He would have found a better paid oppurtunity. He goes and another good developer will take his place... No hate

How many people develop games ?? I could google but hey. People are cool lol. Does one developer make that much difference ?? Are their only lyke three per game or something. Just wondering cause the saying “a developer leaves” (whatever game” has been happening a lot lately

I mean obviously he won't tell people the real reason why he left just like other devs from other games, there's gotta be some sort of problem that may be pushing away devs but who knows🤷‍♂️

The franchise isn’t dead by any means. Aside from Heartland, the new TD2 content by the end of the year isn’t just to please the remaining die hard fans who are still logging in everyday. It’s there to bridge the gap and facilitate the bigger upcoming projects. My bet is that TD3 is under development and I wouldn’t be surprised if the target release date coincides with the movie. Who in their right mind releases a movie and doesn’t have a game ready to cash in on it?

I think that too many people complained, but not to Ubisoft, I think they complained to the investors. These devs have had a blatant disregard of the consumer/ customers opinion. Obviously, Europe, well Norway and Sweden don't think anyone is right except themselves. Meaning that the term the customer is always doesn't compute. Yeah you made a game, wouldn't you want to know and get feedback from the community of what they want? None of these devs, Nikki included give a shit about what you or I say. They're right and we're wrong. Idk how many times I blew up every lie that guy said by quoting him verbatim from his SOTG comments. Saying I never said this or I never said that. I got blocked by pretty much 80% of that dev team because they didn't want to listen to cold hard truths about the deplorable way they have this game in. Idk how many arguments and videos I posted of their demo they showed us proving that the Lightweight M4 full auto was used in their demo and why the players get stuck with a gun that is incapable of being a single shot rifle. Nikki is fucking oblivious! He's leaving because he knows that what he has said in the past and following idiots like Julian Gerhity and Fredrick "I know everything about guns" Thylander. Now that this people are gone everyone else is ju.ping ship. Well, when you change the game and change an iconic gear set like striker and make it into whatever the fuck it is and think people aren't going to notice? They treated us like morons. I'm glad these people are leaving, good riddance! For over a year and a half none of them bothered to listen and when they say they did they didn't. You can't do that to a community like this. As I have said in the past, these devs are in for a rude fucking awakening when dealing with Star Wars fan base! They are rabid wolverines. Massive wants to go into that world and do what they did to us? Hahaha, good luck fuckos. Because those fans will straight gaffle your ass, they will come to your studio with pitchforks and torches looking for blood. Ubisoft is no different and those people think they know more about Assassin's than feudal Japan where it originated. Bye Nikki, you ratted us all out for using the dmg glitch. We need a fresh start. We need a new team, one that needs to learn from this group of shit flinging primates and ask us what we want. Get an actual trained military person like they do in Ghost Recon Breakpoint that actually knows weapons. They need to revamp all the gear. What they need to do when putting out this new game mode and content is bring the servers down for two days and implement the first round of actual fixes. These new devs have one last chance and that's too bad, because they have to suffer from what these other humps did. Sorry this is long but this needs to be addressed and said on a video

I really hope that a new team will actually listen. and not just that, I hope they do what needs to be done. I'm sick of devs only taking feedback and doing the opposite.

@@DADEFUYE this is it man. This new team has got a lot riding on what they're going to offer. My question is who's going to be in the new SOTG? Who's gonna host? These people are jumping ship because they can't get their way, they bail. It's really unfortunate when the new dev team is already coming into this with 2 strikes against them. They have too listen.
