I have been wanting to make a PvP guide for a longer time but wasn't really too sure on how to approach it and eventually I ended up with this video which basically goes over understanding the Metagame and group compositions/builds within that. Hope it helps.

It’s not a competitive game, but man you guys are running a super solid squad. Looks pretty competitive to me haha. Great in depth guide marko, after seeing this I can understand why it’s so hard to take down rogues now. I don’t have very good builds, and always get taken out as a solo player, no chance against solo strikers builds, and especially against teams like yours. Hopefully gonna get more into pvp when I set up my builds better, keep making this informative content! Good stuff

Simply put, if you have a combined group versus a ton of random matchmaking or solo agents, you pretty much can stand up to anything on the DZ (or anywhere else on The Division for that matter). Good video!

I don't know why any of this comes at a surprise. Group comp to counter all set bonus advantages. Div. 2 is going to be different, but also the same. The people that take they synergies of each build and utility and how they jive collectively (and played well) are going to win out. Marco min/maxed the group comp/strat along w/ the gear/talents. Beautifully done Marco!

Thanks for the video Marco. Thanks especially for the beginning, where you point out division is not a competitive game. We don't all want to go on an endless manhunts until we get wiped out. I've always been proud of my dark zone keys and sitting on over a 1000 I don't really want to give anyone 11 keys every time I die. We gat manhunt, the moment it becomes overwhelming we move to the station. So many people watching your videos misunderstanding what it is all about. It is about bringing DZ to life. Get manhunt 1, clear it. Get manhunt 5, MAN UP AND GET WIPED. No shame in that. All up to you. Hopefully they bring a proper competitive mode with Div 2 and some rankings. Last stand is a joke and Skirmish without rankings is quite pointless.

Yeh a group PVP guide is really needed right now. As a solo player I’m always seeing teams of rogues killing me in the wrong way!

If you fight alone try to isolate them, you can win multiple 1v1s in a row, esp. as striker where you gain stacks over time. I know its hard, but in theory you shouldnt even win a 2v1 really. You have to outplay them.

thetute59 Thanks for the tip. Difficult to do when they’re all coming at you as one. But the latest issue I’m having is cheaters on PC. Earlier today I had my fully optimised 6 piece Nomad build on and I came across a guy that killed me within 5 seconds! I can only assume he was another hacker, as like I say he burnt through my over heal, full health bar, 4 piece bonus, 6 piece 60% damage mitigation AND my Recovery Link, all within 5 seconds!

Yeah its almost not possible when you fight while multiple people can shoot back at you. If you watch marcos stream or fight videos you can see that he fights a lot around corners and stuff, so they are moving towards him and you have to take every good shot you can but also learn when to retreat a little. Hm, I can just say I get called hacker a lot when people run into me while im still at very high striker stacks, bc then the damage is insane. Did he have, by any chance, a striker logo next to his head?

Great video! I just would love more content figuring in for console players. We suffer in this game, it's like a whole different game and we get no real mention on how to build to compensate for super feedback, or terrible controller rotation. Also, the lIlIlI names seem to help people not be able to focus any 1 player, same with all same clothes.

it's basically like every game where you play in a team (csgo, r6 for example even tho different games after) eversbody fills a certain role with a built or "mentally" as the squad lead basically. Here the important thing is just to play on a regular base with the same squad and sooner or later you will just get better. "learning by doing"

I tried this line of thought but we found more functionality in the same team composition (2x Striker, 1 Final Measure, 1 Reclaimer). The only difference is that our Final Measure to have 5k FA, 7k ST and 2.9k EL and he does the same with what Marco said. But besides making revives, the FMeasure player also looks after the Reclaimer.

I think it would also be very interesting to cover general movement or fight approach. When (why) to push, how to fight as dps, which tricks you can use with cover/nades etc. You touched the subject, but I'd really love something indepth about that as well. I really liked the video and will keep stuff in mind, thanks for that! Edit: A maybe stupid question, but I how did you get your box healing up so high? I have 10.2k electronics (on my pve reclaimer) and skillpower everywhere I can (total 350k SP), and it heals for not even 29k. How is your baseheal 30k hps? If I got you right you said that its the "base heal" and with sup station range mods, so where do you get that additional healing with lower skillpower? Edit2: Prolly understood it wrong and its when you have either talented or death by proxy, as on your skillscreen it shows you have 25k hps as base.

1.4 was the best imo. Classifieds, or the way they function, are the problem. I just wish they would them out, fix them, or improve counters for each set. Now 1.8 feels like an even more negative spin than 1.3.

Actually div1 is at a more than decent place right now with the amount of viable builds available...you can run pretty much anything you want and it will perform well. There is a good balance between gear and player skill allowing for you to be able to succeed with anything. There are direct counters to everything and even though there are some very powerful gear sets, you still have only yourself to blame if you lose to another player....div1 just needs a little polishing and tweaking here and there with weapons and things of course, but as far as the entire game goes and seeing how div2 is crashing lol...div1 is the most sophisticated and balanced division we have. Div1 is alive and well because there is a good chunk of the community that realizes these things and div1 will never die for as long as division servers are active. 1 and 2 servers are tied so you wont see div1 go anywhere unless they actually decide to make div2 similar I suggest anyone that enjoys div2, to open your mind and learn the ins and out of div1 because right now it doesnt get any better than that. Div1 is amazing and my all time favorite game, it has multiple builds available for you to experience along with gameplay that is so unique you will not experience anything like it elsewhere Div1 for life!! (Yes I'm a very big fanboy 😎)

i think Armor should come back to some degree. Maybe not full armor like release, but maybe armor with a 65 or 70% cap (relative to cap at release)

Why not have the final measure guy use conceal pulse with defib and the 2 strikers use support station so you have a good pulse and still get extra stations

What would you suggest for a returning player who does not have the 6piece sets yet. Is it possible to be viable in skirmish for example without ruining the others 3 players their game. I tried different playstyles : healer/tank/dps but they all seem so weak against the 6 piece players. What role can I play to be viable in pvp before obtaining a RNG 6 piece set? Or should i just trow in the towel and wait for division 2 ? Lovely guide but for a returning player to for out of reach.

My gear score is 282 and I get melted easily by Elite patrols and Rogues in the Dark Zone. Only ones I can survive are the Veteran units at the extraction and even then it’s not guaranteed. Ironically enough, I had more bonus stats to work with on a 267 gear score... Should I just recalibrate them or optimize them?

Unfortunately not only did they fuck up div2 by making it "division lite" but they made the dz smaller with LESS players...and a super short time to kill with ARMOR KITS THAT AREN'T INSTANT...like...wtf??? Instant armor kits would actually make div2 a lot better. Anyways its pretty awesome how we now appreciate div1 and its mechanics because they have proven to be important to division and imo, div1 is THE division experience and the only one worth exploring. Div1 for life!
