100% dead on review. So many reviews crapped on this game. I'll admit, I held off buying it until this week when it went on sale for $12 at Gamestop (still that price at the time of writing this). I ended up purchasing two more copies for friends of mine who ALSO were hesitate to purchase it. Least to say, we're all hooked. Absolutely a blast to play. I think we played it non-stop for 8 hours straight the other day (Yes, I'm a dad and family man and don't have this type of time on my hands, although, I'm on vacation and actually told my family I'm locking my door and not coming out because I get at least one day to myself.. hehe.) Reminds me of borderlands, diablo, mad max, max payne, etc. It's purely a loot / leveling experience. I think to many people want the Division to be something completely different. They weren't prepared for the type of game it actually is and how well it is for being that game. Borderlands was repetitive, Diablo was repetitive but essentially ALL loot / leveling games can be very repetitive, that is the point. I've found out over the past few years that I'm totally a loot / leveling gamer and these type of games hold my attention. I'm constantly anxious to get better loot and level up. So for me, I'm with you, I think this game is 'top 5' of 2016. I'm also loving Dishonored 2, Metal Gear Solid 5, Dark Souls 3, The Following. Sweet soundtrack as well, total Mr.Robot vibe as you said. Good review man and spot on.

Great review, I know I'm late. Never had anything to play it on. But now I got a great computer and been thinking of getting it. There are so many bad reviews its unbelievable. Very few people have given this a good review. I've check hundreds of them. You are one of only ten that I found, that I would believe. I never check gaming channels they always lie. Oh maaaaan! I really, really laugh A LOT with your review. I have to agree with you in almost all your points (disagree in Underground DLC). Im playing The Division for 9 months non stop. I saw every kind of update, patch etc. Even after these task forces to make it easier and less cheatable it is still fun to play. Survival was another great gift for us (my hands sweat all the time I play). And hell yeah. Its complex and for obssessives players. I subscribed you after your epic review. Thanks!

I love this game, and i always have lol. All my friends got online with it and hated it instantly during the beta. I was the last one, still running around the DZ when the beta was over. I waited a bit before i got it though, i skipped the crowds (was actually busy af and poor) but i do think they need to step up on the PvE next expansion. I want to see the map open up further and the SP story needs to be wrapped up or at least further explored.

I hate the fact that a dude with a hoodie can take 100s of bullets from a pistol. When there is a fantasy setting a boss, being the gigantic monster it is, makes sense when it has a huge HP bar. Division doesn't.

I disagree with you on the bullet sponge critique. I have no problem if bosses and mini bosses are bullet spongy cuz it makes sense. But when the regular enemies are such bullet sponges, it gets ridiculous. The guys with the shields that charge at you with an axe are supposed to be the glass cannon, speedy type. But when they have slightly less health than some bosses and everyone becomes a tank, it's just not fun to fight them

At first i thought reviewers were correct...then i played it,after important patches came out. I loved it. Hated bullet sponging though, but it was fun and heart pounding and mostly felt fair ,like if i died i felt it was my own fault for being arrogant. Abaolutely loved the winter NY area. I love TD2,but man i miss NYC. No,seriously TD2 is as of now the best fucking looter shooter . And it will get free dlc ,has better combat. Inventory management is worse i think,but still good.

I ended up trying it to get an idea of division 2. I thought it was horrible. Manning up to play a noob syle game isnt in some players interest. It could have been better. Making it no bullet sponge and more mobs would have made it worth playing. It wasnt remotely difficult.

The Cold Hard Truth is That the Division started great and quickly turned to shit Due to some of the worst End Game content I have ever seen not to mention it had more glitches than a freaking Bethesda soft game. Dunkey's Long Lost Son Actually in most "loot shooter" rpgs it IS the standard. Borderlands, bullet sponges, diabolo, bullet sponges, destiny, bullet sponges and so on. These games are about the loot, those small percentage state adjustments that loot and gear provide to drive you to get better loot and gear which takes your starting 20 dps to 220k over the course of your game. If the enemies all reacted in a real world way to being shot in the face then loot and stat progression would be pointless because you'd shoot them once and they'd die no matter what gun you used. Healers, Tanks, Support roles would be worthless when it's a one hit kill. There are plenty of games that cater to abject realism and very few of them pertain to be an rpg. If you buy this expecting otherwise then more fool you, learn to define your genres better.

well i liked the game for a bit til i got very bored with until i realised that you are always doing the same shit over and over again, different missions, but ai soke in bullets like a sponge, and yet they all do the same fking thing all the time and there is like no variety. so really this game becomes repetitive cause of how much you waste your time getting the next best gun only to find your self battling higher lvl enemies, that make it feel like you are not getting anywhere lol. but then again if you grab some mates and head out in the dark zone its pretty fun

Boring enemies with little variation aren’t fun to shoot at for me. Shooting the same guy with more health and a flamethrower isn’t my idea of groundbreaking enemy design. When every mission feels the same, with the same 4 enemies shooting at you, with the same weapons in the same way, you have failed at making a gripping game. The looting is cool and the customization is interesting, and the clothing is varied and fits the theme but the gameplay is simply not fun. The multiplayer, the pvp anyways, is totally broken and very difficult to get into. Playing with friends via pve is the only redeeming factor here. Trying to figure out the best way to approach a shitty situation with a buddy is often more fun than going it alone. This game doesn’t deserve a sequel and you sound like a shill.

Also, a side note, after watching a lot of your other reviews you seem like a contrarian to the core. As in, you harshly, realistically and critically analyze generally accepted good games, and then talk about how Division is ACKSHUALLY an epic game and we just don’t appreciate it regardless of it not living up to its promises.
