As far as the fine goes I don't think he had read the documents properly and once he did he realized that it was over $1000. It's actually refreshing to see this judge bring down a reduced but still forceful judgment on the spanish mother and son and that they remain responsible for their violations rather than outright dismissing the case which he is often known to do, at least with the hundred or so videos that I've seen of him dealing with these kinds of cases and letting them go free of charge. @QemeH5 жыл бұрын
I don't know how the US system works, but a german judge would've dismissed the second case outright as there is clear evidence that she didn't rack up those fines (the actual perpetrator confessed to it). Ofcourse, the city would then immediately press charges against the son and enter the record of this session into evidence. Owners of vehicles can never be punished for actions of other drivers, they can however be responsible for "failing to provide details" on the actual driver and they may be forced to maintain a logbook in the future and can then be fined if the logbook is faulty. But it is absolutely against constitutional principle do punish someone for anything they (evidently) didn't do.

In my opinion, you should reconsider your stance on body language analysis. It's tenuous as a tell at best. In America alone, crossing your arms might mean: • You're hiding something. • You're chilly. • You're being resilient • You're being defensive • You're nervous • You're emotional • You don't know what to do with your hands. • You're thinking about something • You find that stance comfortable • You're covering up for something unattractive about your torso or arms • A whole bunch of other things I won't continue to list People who believe in reading body language as a way to tell what someone is thinking are paradoxically the easiest people to manipulate. If all I have to do to sell a lie to you is look you in the eye, keep my arms at my sides and avoid saying things like "honestly", I'm going to be able to sell you BS every single time. People who think that you can't lie without blinking are people who haven't dealt with good liars.

This is the first time I saw Judge Caprio getting angry. So, I reckon one needs to be, what the moment requires.

All comments are saying the interpreter was WAY WORSE than the boy translating.

The son cared more about defending mom then relaying what the judge was saying. He knows he’s responsible for the tickets and feels bad

Second lady smiled when judge said, "you look so young". She doesn't need an interpreter !

Edgerton A Hightower speaking and understanding are 2 different things. She may be able to understand but she’d need an interpreter to save the judge time on trying to understand what she said. The interpreter was more if she has anything to say they can tell the judge

hopefully that made sense it’s harder to explain over text

I'm sure she understands a lot of what's being said, but speaking is something else. Also, understanding one simple phrase doesn't mean she can fully understand what the judge is trying to explain after.

t sam she probably gets that comment a lot and doesn’t need English for that

Being able to recognize a few phrases and words in english and being able to speak english fluently enough to satisfy a court case are not even remotely the same thing.
