Can’t believe you are gone. Rest in peace, Michael

Michael, You are without any doubt possibly the finest player I’ve heard. If I could afford the trip I would absolutely love to see you preform live. If you ever come to Tennessee I’ll try my hardest to get there.

Now I understand what it means that a guitar can sing. It's like I can play a little guitar but I watch this and it's like we are playing different instruments. I hope that some alt tuning cuz I didn't recognize any chord shape. Amazed.
@johnsonlb8810 жыл бұрын
It appears to be an open tuning of somekind
@jayverkuilen553510 жыл бұрын
Chris J At the end of the song he hits a lot of open strings and it sounds like a G chord, so I'd guess open G or some variant.

A string tuned down to G all other strings in standard

+leoosiku Bingo... Only 5th string tuned down from A to G. All the rest are standard tuning.

I Love guitarplayers who don't look to much at the way their fingers are playing! That means they mainly play from the heart! Wonderfull performance Michael!

That was absolutely wonderful. Felt like I was on the beach again just like Redding's version always made me feel. Splendid!

I keep coming back to your version it's so good. Easily the best acoustic out there. Not only that but i appreciate the inspiration not just for the music but being able to feel it and have it flow out. Got so much feeling. Good stuff.

I just found this channel while looking for a good "mad world" guitar cover to rip off and have now officially made myself late for work watching your videos. I've never cared less about being late in my life. Keep on pluckin'!!!

This is a phenomenal arrangement. Not technically difficult but that's what makes it so good. It gets everything in there without cramming it full of any excess. I'll be working on this piece. I play a lot of more difficult pieces but none better. Beautifully done

Been following you for years (and trying to play your music), so I'm familiar, but still, to this I have to say "wow!". You are pushing the potential of the instrument, as well as playing with real feeling! Beautiful.

All magical … As if two guitarists playing at the same time but you cover both bass, rhythm, and leads … the point at 1:50 bit just slays me ... Supreme playing. Kudos.

I love your music, always have. Your California Dreaming posted by others years prior to your having your own channel inspired thousands to learn it. The same is true for your "I heard it through the grapevine". I play some but haven't posted for years. I don't play well but I enjoy it anyway. I see you using your middle finger to get more pressure on your first finger to bar. I am trying that.

amazing. how do you even get to this level ?? i feel like i can spend the rest of my life practicing and never get here. to me, there’s a huge leap between playing what i see on a tab/what i hear in a song vs just feeling it and letting the instrument sing. your guitar is singing

Michael, is it just a camera illusion or do you use your middle finger occasionally to assist with the first-finger barre?
@samlopez70699 жыл бұрын
Why does it matter?
@MichaelChapdelaineofficial9 жыл бұрын
+futnuh Probably. My technique is pretty free of rules that don't assist the flow and expression of the performance. I am a "street fighter" when it comes to technique.
@JazzGuitarPractice8 жыл бұрын
its a common technique, i use it all the time:)
