But black and asian people can also be Caucasian. Nigeria and India for example are Caucasian. Or do other people use the term Caucasian for white? I’m genuinely curious because I’ve been seeing it used by so many and I’m so confused 😂 Edit, explanation: Caucasian used to be used for people from parts of Europe, North Africa, Horne of Africa, Southwest Asia and South Asia. They were called caucasian without looking at any skincolors. It was believed race doesn’t exist which I do also believe because we are all the “humanrace” which doesn’t change with the color of your skin. We just have different ethnicities. People also refer to people from the Caucasus mountains when saying Caucasian people. Caucasian was also used to identify people based on the shape of the skull. I’ve learned that this was in the passed and now people mean “European” or “white” when they say Caucasian.

But the prejudiced Americans who were white & lived here for years would try to tell them who they should and shouldn’t associate with. They shut that shit down real fast my dad used to tell ppl I came from a place where everyone looked like me to the US for a better life. I’m a dark skinned Mexican so people rarely see me as a Mexican. I’m a manager at McDonald’s and one closing night a man walked in. He saw my front counter girl who is Mexican. Not her real name but let’s call her Jenny. The customer asked if the manager could help him. Jenny called me over and I begin to assist him when he makes a comment saying that it would have been difficult for him to place his order with that Mexican girl. I was shocked by his response. Before I could say anything Jenny said she was going to the back to get more toys. I responded In Spanish. The customer was taken aback. He said he didn’t know I spoke another language, but it’s smart to have a manager speak different languages. I told him yep learning English as a second language was tough. He then asked if I wasn’t black? I told him I was born in Mexico just like my parents. His eyes almost popped out of his head when I said that. I told him if being helped by a Mexican is an issue then the door is right there. I don’t care what skin tone someone has, but racism irritates me to no end.

Different perspective: what if she knew, but was floored because they knew. Like, African Americans, Black Americans, who could or can "pass" depend on their secret remaining 100% A SECRET... I am a native of South Carolina and knew Black people who 100% passed as non-Black in greater society. They gave up their families, childhood friends, links to their own lineage for an opportunity to experience a far better reality than they would have otherwise. Honestly, I don't really fault them. They can "pass" because some non-Black man raped a member of their family. The result: a child, is the only proof of the crime that would never be prosecuted; so, why not take advantage, why not eeek out some benefit from the tragic reality of how the ability to "pass" was thrust upon you... My two cents worth.

I saw a tik tok that was the best explanation of skin color that I have ever heard. This young, black man was asked about systemic racism and he said that we are all different shades of wheat. If there is one thing i despise, is ppl defending racist old people bc ''their customs were different'' About 15 years ago my grandma was very lucid, and even MORE racist and sexist, to her no black people were allowed at our home and none of her ''boys'' did anything at home, or else the women were in for an earful. Me, a guy, couldn't whitstand this behavior anymore, and during a time of stress, snapped back at her behavior. Said what i wanted to say and a lot more. After hearing her listen to me with teary eyes, i ran back to my room and quietly cried at how i yelled at her for the first and last time. Nowadays, she is a sweet ol' granny, who treats her choldren equally no matter the gender, and calls my black godfather her ''son from another woman'' Back then i used to hate what i did, i still do now, but that helped her to become better, and me to love her even more. She needed the reality shock. I wish i could go back and resolve things differently, but i was only 14. No different from a child.
