@@tiny99990 Maybe from a gameplay perspective. Plot-wise, atmosphere, music, it's probably the best. To each their own, just can't fathom how someone played the Mass Effect trilogy without playing the first. That literally takes out the most integral part of the story and characters, especially the Virmire Survivor, Garrus, Wrex, Liara, Tali. Honestly, I am okay with it not including Shepard. I think Shepards arc across the three originals and ending with him dying, with him making the ultimate sacrifice to not only safe the galaxy, but to sacrifice himself to save his team who he came to love and trust as family... Let us jump into another character and run into/work with/recruit Shepard's team... idk thats my opinion, to me bringing Shepard back is a bit of a betrayal to the original three games. He was the hero meant to assemble a group that would eventually save the universe a 3 times and at the end of the third it was he who gave his life to stop the Reapers. To bring him back, I think, removes the impact of that sacrifice and ruins the first trilogy.

"the level of customization for things like armor is over the top" lmao, developers used to just say anything in these. theres like 5 full suits most of which were DLC/preorder/promotions (and ugly, with no way to remove the helmet), and then like 5 suits divided up into armor sections with some additional helmet choices, its rly pretty limited for an RPG. Its nice to be able to mix and match pieces, but theres certainly not "over the top" armor customization. the gun selection is also extremely limited in ME2 and doesnt even show you stats or anything to compare them, just some descriptive text. Making ME2 so much less of an RPG was a big step backwards honestly and holds it back. Every game in this series is so great in a number of ways but has a couple major flaws holding it back from being the GOAT, and in each of the games the flaws are different. Good thing the story & writing is solid & the characters are so great in all of them. Andromeda would have been seen as a much better game if it had got dialogue & choices right.

Simply answer, gaming went mainstream ten years ago. Gaming was on the rise in the late 2000's but, it wasn't considered "Cool" by the masses. Anything that becomes lucrative will have suits that demand they get paid, and by any means necessary . It's become less of an art form and more of a business. Sadly, the only way we can fight this is with our wallets but, there will be collateral damage, not only will the gamers lose but the game developers as well...Time will tell.

@@spacepioneer4070 and so were on the same page ... the news and web sites are not what dictate what is mainstream the people are and since the birth of consoles billions have been playing reguardless what the news says so to put it simple . its always been mainstream. the news has only started baithing it 10 years ago nothing more . there is no excuse for a loss of spine in that reguard . if someone only counts games as mainstream 10 years ago then the loss of a backbone to stand for your livlyhood only says that person is weak and pathetic easy to turn or just put up and sut up ... witch is worse then being in so long you lost the ability to see the issue.

Back before bioware was a woke piece of crap company that can't make a good game to save their lives

and then they got even woker and invested all their time editing out female butts. This game was a masterpiece. But the Bioware from that time...does NOT exist anymore.

One of the more disappointing sequels I ever had to experience. I mean, it's a _good_ game, not _great_ ,but it wouldn't be of *_any_* interest if not for the first game, and the necessaty of playing it to get to the 3rd game.

@@brenobonfim5749 No, he's entirely wrong on everything. Mass Effect 2 is an amazing game, and ends up having little to do with the first Mass Effect. Furthermore, one flaw of ME2 is that it's filler, meaning you can skip from ME1 to ME3 without missing much. So no "necessity" to play it for Mass Effect 3. OP manages to be wrong on everything, same goes for you.

@@yaz2928 Mass Effect 2 is a market research game for casuals, as is Mass Effect 3, the only Mass Effect you need to play is the first and only Mass Effect.

@@brenobonfim5749 That couldn't be further from the truth. Mass Effect 2 & 3 have a campaign that can last dozens of hours, they're not casual friendly like Call of Duty games are. ME1 has its own merits, mostly its storyline, but ME2 and ME3 beat it in most other aspects.

@@yaz2928 ME2 and 3 are games made for Gears of War fans and other mediocre franchises, not old Bioware fans who played Baldurs Gate and Kotor.
