I did a course in animal psychology many years ago. These workout moves in 'doggie language' are an invitation to play - thats not a joke.

Dogs don't have that of thinking, the dog just thinks she wants to play and gets exalted by her moving, and that gets more incentivated when she starts petting and playing instead of setting a limit

TBH,I can't say I would be any better behaved in the same circumstance. I had a golden who was and remains the love of my life. She passed in 2009, and I still miss her almost overwhelming expression of Love.

I grew up with golden retrievers when they were only gold! Absolutely the most wonderful dogs. He was loving, overly friendly, so sweet. My father had a women's clothes store. The dog went to work with him. Women would call the store to see if 'Sam' was working today . If so, they could bring their kids and Sam would keep them busy while she shopped. He never got a salary though! But these cream colored retrievers, The ones I have met, are full of funny gestures and are very goofy. Just heavenly.

Yep. My golden is seven and he does similar stuff whenever I get on the floor to do pushups or sit-ups. I guess getting on the floor means playtime to him.

It's in the DNA. A retriever needs to retrieve. When you are exhausting energy the retriever tries to retrieve that energy back to you by making you stop the exercise and showering you with love!
