I hear allot of Iggy Pop, Velvet Underground and Thin Lizzy here. I'm from Cedar Rapids Iowa and just discovered this album tonight. I'm currently interviewing a member of 149 Dead Marines for my blog but would love ANY information about this band or the whereabouts of the members.

@Abel Ruby The juice for this group was Jody Koenig who now lives in Colorado and plays much different music and writes film scores. The bass player, Ole Torvik, became a successful commodities trader after rocking the world off it's axis with the Dogs. The manager, Kirk Juffer, an inspiration to all things Dogs, became a school teacher and lives in Milwaukee. All great people. The music was in them and those lyrics? "Hey little miss badbreath...

Strange as I don't hear any of those three, especially not the Velvet Underground. I'm curious what makes you say that. I suppose it's still protopunk but this is not that memorable and honestly small potatoes compared to those legendary bands.

@@FirstMultitude I don’t understand how you don’t hear any Stooges in this. The guitar tone is also similar to Thin Lizzy. Velvet Underground not so much. Either way this is great stuff.

Definitely influenced by Iggy & the Stooges... I hear real early B.O.C. in there too. Much in the same vein as Radio Birdman, but The Dogs are a lot trashier!

Yeah, The Dogs from Lansing, Michigan were great too. Look up "Fed Up" & "Slash Your Face" from 1978. I think there was another The Dogs from France (?)
