The Dome of the Rock refers to JESUS, not Muhammad!

We've always assumed that the inscriptions on the Dome of the Rock, created in 691 AD all referred to Muhammad, and that it was here that the 'Shahada' was first introduced by Abd al-Malik. But Mel (from Sneaker's Corner) and Murad (from the Middle East) choose to disagree.
Watch as they go through all of the inscriptions in Arabic, and show how indeed they don't refer to Muhammad at all, but possibly Jesus, and that the Qur'anic verses in these inscriptions are not the same as that which we have in the qur'an today, and are thus possibly pre-cursors to the Qu'ranic verses which were written later.

God gave Jesus the Revelation, so in verse 8, it's not him saying "I am the alpha and the omega", it is Jesus relaying what God told him to say. The trinity was introduced by the catholics, who sinply placed a Christian veneer over their pagan gods of apollo, zeus, saturn etc. Get out of Babylon, or suffer her plagues.

Regarding the placement of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, Jay & Murad & Mel, may I add a bit more which maybe supports your theories? Back in the 1990s I was told that the correct rendering in English of Allahu akbar is NOT Allah is great or Allah is greatest. It is Allah is greater. It is comparative not superlative (or positive). My theory back in the 1990s was: the original call to prayer began with the creation of the Dome of the Rock and the muezzin, by using this phrase, in his call, was essentially saying: '[Our] God is greater [than yours]'. This was a direct 'challenge or deprecation' issued from the Dome to the Christians attending the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (and others). This was also directed towards the Jews attending their shuls. Murad, a slight suggestion for your take on The Dome of the Rock. It may not have been a direct attack on Jesus Christ. It may have been an attack on the Christian theology regarding Jesus. That is to say, Abd al-Malik was merely correcting a mistake made by the misguided Christians regarding Jesus. I have to wonder, thinking about this, whether Abd al-Malik would have been viewed by his subjects as Righteous or more importantly Rightly Guided for doing this. If so, maybe the concept of the Rightly Guided Caliphs (who didn't exist per your previous episode) originated with the Dome of the Rock and what Abdul Malik did there.

The hypothesis, that mohammed (the praised one, the anointed one / equals the latin "benedictus" by the way) is just a title not a name, isn't very new indeed. That Jesus, not mohammed, was meant by the word "MHD" (as a title, an attribute) written at the dome of the rock, is possible. But here we go: The Jesus here is a Jesus of possibly some christian groups / sects, not believing in the trinity. The koran is full of claims, that Jesus was just a man (a human) and god is one and has no partners / relatives.

There is a place called the high place of sacrifice in Petra with a large circular dip in the rock and an altar next to it. Perhaps where the black rock in Mecca once was held and worship and sacrifices were made to it? Its dimensions are identical to the descriptions found in Islamic sources, unlike the Kaaba in Mecca. Also Mounts Safaa and Marwa, Mount Arafat and the stone pillar on a plain. There are many more elements of the Holy City described in the Hadith and Sirat that fit Petra perfectly.

What is interesting about the originators and the originating concept of Islam... The house or seat of Mary is still there in the oddest experience I ever had and saw on the mountain. Off to the side is a small structure a smaller dome while walking through I carried a bottle of water but as I continued Muhammad said to me pour some at the very center,which I did but that is and impossible but what happened ?. The stream of water never touched the center of it but moved forwards and landed (splash down)about 6 inches ahead of it outwards moving curve. I did it again and the water then fell and covered the center stone ?. The women's place ?.

Al-Malik invented Islam and the Muslim Caliphate.

Isn’t it a fact that the location of the rock had a church on it before the Persian destruction in 614 called Hagia Sophia which commentated the rock Gabbatha on which Christ was judged by Pilate? The Dominus Flevit(Jesus wept Jn 11:35) on Mount of olive is said to have been built at a spot where Jesus wept when he looked at Jerusalem because of its unbelief. Jesus might have foreseen the dome of the rock's inscriptions which are classic example of unbelief. The dome appears to be obscuring the calvary when viewed from the Dominus Flevit.

He offered his prayers facing Baitul-Maqdis (Jerusalem) for sixteen or seventeen months, but he wished that he could pray facing the Ka'ba (at Mecca). The first prayer which he offered facing the Ka'ba was the 'Asr prayer in the company of some people. Then one of those who had offered that prayer with him came out and passed by some people in a mosque who were bowing during their prayers (facing Jerusalem). He said addressing them, "By Allah, I testify that I have prayed with Allah's Apostle facing Mecca (Ka'ba).' Hearing that, those people changed their direction towards the Ka'ba immediately. Jews and the people of the scriptures used to be pleased to see the Prophet facing Jerusalem in prayers but when he changed his direction towards the Ka'ba, during the prayers, they disapproved of it.

Architectural resemblance of the Dome of the Rock to platform-church built in Caesarea (non existing today, destroyed by earthquake un 749 AD) is striking (two images of its reconstruction can bo found in the web). Dome of the Rock is also built on a platform erected on the Temple mount. I read, that Muawiya could initiate building of Dome of the Rock.

The ideas brought forth by Mel and Murad are very interesting, following them for 3 weeks they've really changed my thoughts on the compilation of the quran. The idea that the quran couldn't be compiled before the writings on the dome of the rock seems the most plausible, you wouldn't add text to scripture, it makes sense. Also the idea that Muhammed in the quran refers to Jesus or just as the blessed one and not to a prophet named Muhammed also makes sense when you look into it. This makes you really wonder who created the identity of this Arabian prophet. They're ideas about ibn ishaq and abu moslem are also very interesting. Keep up the good work 👍

A huge Remise of Many Historians is to NOT Declare the estimated Population numbers of any given era, of any city which is VERY Impactful on Politics, Religion and Culture but, moreover, on any " movement" inspired or forced! The vast majority of people in Ancient times were fully preoccupied about surviving and any threat of a change to that would be resisted. Eg. In Medieval England, if my facts are correct, the population was about 3 million in circa 1550, with 'London' having about 50 to 60 thousand at most!!!!! Almost unimaginably small by today's measures. How did cities compare in say 650 AD in the East? What size were "caravans" crossing deserts, how LONG did it take for 'word' to get around and to whom? I'm glad that Murad pointed out that Jesus is not supposed to die and rise from the dead in Islam, which explains why the passage was made to refer to someone else in the Quran. This is a killer. I do wonder why the verse implies that Jesus will die and rise in the future... It would be interesting to mention that the Dome of the Rock does not have a Qibla, suggesting it could be intended as the centre point of Abd al-Maliks religion. The dome could be the place at which Jesus is supposed to return on the 8th day of Creation, i.e. Judgement Day. Hence the 8 corners and the entrance to the East from which Jesus is supposed to arrive.
