Wowplayerme you could not be more wrong if you tried. This IS a good cover version. But BEST. EVER. Cover of Kids In America is Lawnmower Deth's. As proved by SCIENCE. And the fact that not only is it OFFICIALLY endorsed by Kim Wilde, but they got her to appear ONSTAGE with them at fucking DONNINGTON to sing it. and then she invited THEM to do a single with her,(Fuck You Christmas) AND got them onstage with her to play both it and 'kids'. Second best cover version of this song is, of course Ghoul's. I'll allow you 3rd. Because I do love The Donnas.

The Original rules and is unequalled, best cover is Kim Wildes own cover.

At least this song has been taken up by real kids in America, since Kim Wilde is as English as Shepherd's pie, nothing even remotely American about her. Having said that Kim has this ice queen quality about her which makes her one of the coolest performers coming out of the early eighties.

The Muffs version doesn't come close to being this good. The guitar rocks harder on this one, the lead vocals are better, and the power of the harmonies on the Donnas version seals the deal. I like the Muffs plenty, but the Donnas rule on this tune. I can't find it now, but somebody recommended a version that looked like a dance team and sounded like teenagers at a karaoke bar,apparently a few more bands covered it than should have.

All music videos are lip synced to the track they created in the studio. Live should be live but most popular acts have backing tracks, lip sync etc and fob off the fans with a shit show.
