Yeah I hope not as well. I pretty much grew up listening to The Donnas, and it would suck to have another fav band of mine split (ex: The Distillers, Tsunami Bomb) But I think these ladies have a rare and strong bond that will last for years to come! :D

its so sad that there are people (most guys) that underestimate The Donnas. They just need to accept there are some girls that can kick ass!!! here in mexico they are not too much appreciated... so bad! and when i convinced my friends to listen to them, at first they were like "yeah, sure, i bet they are girls just only playing ballads and snob songs" but after listen the songs they said: "wow! this is freaking awesome, are they girls really?"

@MaggieCrook One similarity is they got famous by playing music written by a guy, but otherwise no. The Donnas were fully formed all by themselves. The Runaways were entirely the creation of Kim Fowley...I mean totally. Their name and songs came from Kim and his songwriting buddies, their record deal, videos, shows. The Runaways started out playing forums and large clubs with huge Marshall Amps and all new equipment--not true of the Donnas.

@Thomflanagan I've seen the band since 1997, Allison (Donna R) has great, fleshy lips...that somehow don't make it into pictures or videos. All the girls used to be incredibly geeky, but that's one of many unusual things about them...it's what makes them so unique and special.

Yes Indeed the Runaways wrote the majority of their songs. Look at the writing credits. And no Kim Fowley did not form the band. Joan Jett wanted to start an all girl band and met Kim Fowley. He had already met Sandy West and hooked them up. It wasn't his vision.
