Jim Morrison did get arrested on stage in New Haven. Had an issue with police there and was taunting them on stage. Also arrested in Miami. A lot of cities banned their concerts. They were a great band though and Morrison a great singer. Have always enjoyed their music. 😊

So glad you did this song, I love the Doors!!, my brother introduced them to me when I was little and I thought they were the coolest band ever. You should definitely watch the movie, self titled The Doors. You’ll love it.

The Doors were one of my favorite bands from the mid and late 1960's. They had a very unique dreamy like sound, great songs, and an iconic front man in Jim Morrison. In the video, Jim Morrison was being arrested, as he was on several occasions. During performances, JM could be very provocative, rebellious, and he wouldn't limit his self expression to societies norms at the time. The Doors first number one hit was Light My Fire, which got them a contract for several performances on The Ed Sullivan Show ( the most watched family TV show during the 1960's). The contract required that The Doors change the lyrics in Light MY Fire from "girl we couldn't get much higher" to "girl we couldn't get much better." They were afraid that the lyrics might be interpreted as an encouragement to do drugs which were an integral part of the 1960's hippie culture. Jim Morrison mockingly sang the original lyrics resulting in the Doors being banned from the show. Great job on your reaction, and I think it would be good to do a few more Doors reactions.

Jim Morrison, vocals and wrote most of the lyrics, Robbie Krieger guitar,(he was a flamenco guitarist but got an electric guitar right before joining the band) and wrote most of their biggest pop hits, Ray Manzarek on Keyboards and backing vocals and keyboard bass, John Densmore on drums (jazz style drummer) Robby and John are still with us, we lost Ray a few years ago and Jim died in Paris in 1971 from heart failure (something he was warned about a year earlier by doctors) from hard smoking and drinking. His alcohol abuse was legendary.

Great reaction Blessing. The doors had so many great songs in a short amount of time. Morrison of course is a member of the so called 27 club, dying at 27 of drugs along with Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Curt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, etc…. his voice was so much better than live concerts portrayed, since he was usually high. Riders On The Storm, Break on through, Love Me Two Times, LA Woman, Touch Me, are other great songs you should react to.

Jim was always goading the cops into getting harassed or even maced in the face just before going on stage. He left the US while still on trial for "public indecency in Miami" . He was banned from the Ed Sullivan show for saying the word "High" on tv, something he was told to change for the show. He was an incredibly talented, intelligent, instigator and poet.
