The defining moment of my childhood occurred when - at age 5 years - I was run over by a lorry on the way home from school. Hovering between life and death on the way to hospital, I was visited by the spirit of my grandfather who'd died eight years before I was born.

Beautiful and Sad photos of Native Americans. When I see them, I wonder what kind of lives they lived. Powerful proud costumes. Weary and Sad faces. Stoic and Proud faces. Native Dress. All gone now. Native Tongues no longer spoken. Erased. A way of life. Gone the way of the Dodo.

@@REMAINS1666 Yes, that’s true but they have arisen like the Phoenix from the Ashes. There’s a million Native Americans living in the United States and the birth of Two White Buffalos not long ago was a sign of the return of the Native people. A rebirth! Some of the Federal land has been returned to the Tribes. And the Casinos on Indian land have provided an economic boom and income for Native Tribes as well that they never had before. So things are better for Native Americans now than they have been in a long time. I’m pleased to say. I’ve always admired and respected the Indigenous people of North America. They have their own culture and beliefs which are unique and fascinating. I appreciate their culture very much. 👏🏻
@dynjarren83552 жыл бұрын
Strangely enough, as bad as Reservations were and probably still are in a way they saved the Native Americans from disappearing entirely. Because by separating them they survived. Even if many Tribes vanished, some were saved. If not for Reservations they would have been wiped out entirely. Because the official government policy was Genocide for the Indian. First, the Bison were almost completely extinct except for one small group left in Yellow stone Park. Whites killed all the Bison 🦬. And the Natives relied on hunting the Bison for food and clothes. With out any Bison 🦬 left to hunt the Indians had nothing to sustain them or any purpose anymore. And the official policy and beliefs were the only good Indian is a dead Indian back then. This is what Whites believed and the Genocidal policy they followed. I always hated that ignorant saying. I always knew it was wrong to say or think like that. But that is what the majority wanted back then and that’s the belief system they followed. So Indians were either killed or sent to Reservations. I saw a picture not long ago of a Public hanging of 20 American Indians from years ago. It is very disturbing and upsetting to see a picture like that. Obviously they wanted to get rid of the Native people and to kill 20 at once looked like murder to me. I thought why are they hanging twenty men at once. What are they afraid of? Obviously they were afraid of Indian uprisings so they wanted to eliminate the threat by executing them all. To me, it looked like a Crime to hang that many men at one time. To me, it looked like it was mass murder. I don’t know what they did but you don’t hang twenty men at once?. That’s overkill and it looks bad. Like a Massacre! The American Government needs to apologize to the Native Tribes for the Genocide they committed against them. But they keep ignoring the crimes they committed in the past. And that’s wrong! They need to acknowledge their crimes and malfeasance. But they refuse. This country can never heal and move forward until it recognizes the past misdeeds and acknowledges them.

all good, beautiful pictures but was it necessary to invert them? the google addons call videomirror shows the right side of the pictures. it is not possible that in those years the left eye is bigger than the right :S. I am already bored with this propaganda that inverts the nature of the human being.
