Sugar skulls are mexican. but i feel that, because is a "character" and a literal candy is ok to do it as a costume (I'm Mexican BTW) and I know that me and the people I know feel kind of proud of it being a trend, I think it brings positive attention to our culture... but dressing up as a Mexican, that's a dochebag thing to do.

Once when I was little I went as Mulan because she was my favorite disney princess and although I do have some very very minor Asian background obviously I look 100% caucasian/white. So we made a costume and my mom said she would 'make me look more like Mulan' and drew like a winged eyeliner and that kind of stuff so my eyes would look more almond shaped etc. Being the young kid that I was and being the naïve farm lady my mom was we had NO IDEA people would get so offended over a little girl cosplaying an asian charachter, and isn't my mom shitty for letting her little daughter cosplay her favorite Disney princess, her daughter who's almost completely unaware of the topic of race? Yeah.

Last year I was with my niece looking for candy, as soon i let go of her hand, this random guy takes her in his arms and runs, I remember seeing that and being so scared I started running behind him (not a fast runner), trying take my phone out of my jacket and screaming. He suddenly stopped and let ny niece go, I keep running and finally kept screaming while hitting him with the bag of candy. He just turned and said chill is Halloween. The guy just walked of, my niece was crying and all the people were trying to catch this guy, who i never even knew. Seriously people Halloween is not a chance to be assholes and "play pranks" to people that you don't know

As soon as October rolls around, I run to the grocery store and stock up on those sugar cookies. My favorite is the one with the CHOCOLATE CAT IN THE CENTER. Sooooooo good! Also... because I have kids I get to use them as an excuse to dress up and trick-or-treat. But, I also find that I LOVE handing out candy. Our neighborhood is a popular spot, so it's fun to see all the adorable little monsters.

Omg 2 or 3 years ago my Aunt posted a picture of herself with her boyfriend at a Halloween party. That was the first time I had seen her boyfriend. He was wearing a 70's outfit and was sporting a medium sized afro. Later that day my Mom called and I was like, "Oh I saw Aunt's new boyfriend. I'm kind of surprised that she met any black guys out there in Montana haha." And then my Mom says, "He's not black haha." I looked back at the picture and I was like, "No he's black... or maybe that's just her friend?" My Mom then says, "No, he's dressed up as a black guy." I was so surprised. He really looked black. He had used prosthetic to change his facial features and a lace front wig as well as body paint. I later saw him without the makeup and he's very white, a traditional western cowboy type. I was both impressed at the transformation and slightly concerned haha.

I love this girl! 1:19 I was laughing so much! Yeah, I hate douche's who are just in it to get free candy. I actually stopped one such trick-or-treater, and asked him about why he had no costume, and why he didn't just buy himself candy, and he said, "Too broke". And I was like, "YOU COULD AT LEAST PUT SOME EFFORT INTO TRYING TO LOOK THE PART!" And he was like, "Bitch, if I wasn't broke, I wouldn't even get a costume, and I wouldn't need your crap candy!". So I was like, "YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T NEED IT, LET ME HAVE IT BACK". He seemed desperate to hold onto it, despite what he just said, and he tried to run off down the street, but then my brother came home and that kid ran in front of my brother's bike. For Halloween I love going to the corn maze & the haunted house the local high school puts on. You also get a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme on Halloween if you come in wearing your costume! Another fun thing I like to do is "Boo" people. You make a Halloween treat/gift thingy and anonymously leave it on someone's door with a note telling them to boo someone else. It's a nice little thing that spreads spooky love.
