Absolutely right! Comedy films like those from the past are rarely made today. Legendary director Priyadarshan ji crafted classics like De Dana Dan, Bhool Bhulaiya, Chup Chup Ke, and Katha Meetha, which are hard to find nowadays. Although Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3 were remade, directed by Anees Bazmee ji, I didn't enjoy them. Anees Bazmee ji has delivered excellent films like No Entry, Ready, No Problem, and Welcome, but his recent remake didn't impress me. However, I recently watched Madgaon Express, which had me laughing throughout! I wish more films like it would be made, capturing the same magic as the classics

Just one note from my side. If u dont consider Bollywood there are some great example like "Panchyat" series by TVF. Yes yes it is not a movie but my point is the direction and writing. That series is completely based on situational comady, there is not a single try hard joke but u will laugh at the situation. Even the situations doesn't fell forced and feels so natural. Bollywood should take same pages from these. This can be the transition point in the art of comady.
