During my 6 years of activity on youtube, there has never been a single KZbinr that I genuinely liked. Yeah some make nice content but thats it. However, Chisgule is really one of a kind content creator. I have never seen a KZbinr be this connected and open to his audience and fans. We need more people like him. Best wishes Chis!! All the big long time players are leaving in droves, all the new servers are swamped with F2P jumper groups who only want to take king, which leaves new genuine players to just quit, this game has not got long left

I feel like the historical and factual style of RoK is what always will be their most attractive thing, so people will always come back for historical and factual gameplay and the immersive style of the game. They learn this in school, or in their country, or whatever, so yeah, that will never go away and they can always add new content because of that, like Joan d’Arc Prime KvK map, etc.

Age of Empires will tempt many ROK players in my opinion. Call of Dragons couldn’t do that because of the whole goblin/orc/dragon theme isn’t really vibing with many ROK players. AOE doesn’t have that problem. The biggest hurdle will be overcoming the fact that people like me have 5 years of building up my account and can I really abandon it? The new game would need to be super great and also be something my ROK friends would want to do. Anyway, really interesting video and one that you’re absolutely right to make.

I only play RoK but if i had to choose between CoD or AoE i would always pick call of dragons, AoE has nothing special, 99% exact same system as RoK with some okish graphics. CoD atleast offers something new

I can’t understand that, just use the time now to develop the game, until RoK goes offline, but they want you to choose, so people choose to play whatever they like and usually that is something they are used to, which isn’t Call of Dragons

I watched one of your squad buster's video and it was awesome! So much energy. I Loved it. Sill laughing a couple of days later because you slaughtered *everyone* and the video wasn't even about that! It sounds like a separate Call of Dragons channel now would give you the opportunity to make content you otherwise would not. It's definitely the case that high volume creators hire a production team. One expansive example of that is Linus Tech Tips. Have you thought about doing video product reviews on amazon in some genre? Consulting for marketing and social media seems complimentary since you have the experience in technical product management, but turning that into content would be in a different format and perhaps on another platform.

Very refreshing video. Finally you show us that you're a human being and not just a bot playing high level on city builder games. Vulnerability is a HUGE connector between people and you. It's all about relatability, that's why videos where you're doing 200 spins on a wheel are not as popular because they are not relatable to 99% of people who won't whale on everything. Lastly, I think you are missing a great opportunity after a commander is released and you test that commander in AOO or in KVK if given the opportunity. Open form discussion with your friends in ROK that are knowledgeable. In one testing, like 4 or 5 of you discussed the impact of the commander, their skills and debated it. It was so awesome. Cool if you do it in a live stream, but then cut it for another video and do it on the regular. Those discussions are PRICELESS!

We're not getting new players. Recycled players, yes. Creating new accounts during off season hoping it turns out to be a good one but fails. The cycle doesn't end there. It just keeps on repeating. Plus we have the ones migrating back depriving "new players" opportunity causing them to quit.

There is no downfall of chisgule I saw your first video I watched you consistently before rise of kingdoms changed their name when you first started. I’m sure you’ll do something. Also I just noticed yesterday you have not aged lol. Your hair your beard all exactly the same as it was 6 years ago which is pretty funny. I also remember how extremely excited you once was in kvk videos and things like that so much enthusiasm inside every video that you made and I come specifically for that energy you gave out and I loved how unique you are yesterday you said no one is there for only you I know that I am and I’m sure I’m not the only one. You also took the game very seriously which again I also enjoyed. It’s been so long when I started watching you I was living with my mom and going to school. And I’m 22 now. I also remember when you had a hard on for yi-song-gye and minamoto and Calvery. Edit: I’m watching the video. You said you don’t think rise of kingdoms will fall. Personally I believe it has. Dispite watching your videos I quit almost 5 years ago I’ve played many many games since that are very very similar there are now many many games. Well i cant speak for everyone but i dont watch your channel for the guides. While yes they are extremely helpful and very much appreciated, the reason i watch you is for a few reasons. The biggest reason is watching a high powered account and what kind of decisions are made to help me make decisions with my account which is sort of kinda like a guide. But the biggest reason is you make good content dude. You enjoy creating the content that you create. Whatever you decide to push on your channel just make sure you yourself enjoy it first, the viewers will follow with patience! Youre a likable person and i love supporting people like you. I can say with confidence that whatever it is you decide to cover i will most likely watch. Keep up the good work!! Additionally, im writing this as i watch. Your channel wont fail because you only cover this or that. People dont watch chisgule for rok or rod content. They watch chisgule because they want to watch chisgule. I feel like this is not the same for RoK players, I feel like most of these players have resentment over CoD and just hate the game because it’s something new and they feel like they have the need to defend RoK at all costs or else their game will die. I watched several of your RoK guides because I didn't want to start off wrong, but Call of Dragons was released at the time and I ended up playing Call of Dragons on release instead. I played it for a week and gave up because of the negativity in the guild I was in, everyone in the guild did quit because of P2W. They said that these games are unplayable for Brazilians, even rich Brazilians (which is not our case) don't come close to middle class Americans and Chinese. Now I just found your channel again because I wanted to see what Age of Empires mobile looks like. My alternative to games like RoK are PC RTS games like Age of Empires 4, Dune: Spice Wars (which is the best in my opinion) and Stellaris. I know it's not "kingdom building" because the matches only take a hour, but If RoK players try it, they might end up liking. Anyone who has money to play RoK can buy a gaming PC.

Since this is a game that depends on community and cooperative competitive gaming. I think it should have like a news coverage that reports the highlights, activities, stories, background, strategies of gamers from each kingdom's. Like a 1-2 hours daily RoK news that have several segments and chisgule will be the main anchor driving and directing his team of reporters and producers. =)

Like a daily report about a new rising kingdom and it's team of players, and a daily report of a kingdom that had just died, or in a civil war - background and stories of players behind it. A feature gamer, Kingdom, Alliance, thier background and accomplishments. A silly RoK story that will make you laugh, An Event segments, Updates, Competition, etc

By the way, I stopped playing RoK; so, to answer your question, I think there is an audience for videos like these - maybe not a big one. Who knows? Maybe this little-life-journey could take you down a road less traveled that could be all the difference ;)

I think, in my opinion, it would be disappointing and sad if in the future we as rise of kingdoms players searched for guides or info about a certain event or hero in rok and we didn't see chisgule making a video about it. So for me I think I would like if you still covered rok, but covered other games. I think this would give a longevity to the channel more than it would if you fully covered another game.

i've been watching you for a long time now, but im one that watches almost only the guide videos, as well as those like this to know your serious thoughts on things. I'm also been on the internet consuming content since i was a child so i can give my oppinion based on that. The dream of being a varaiety content creator: Honestly almost all of them try this but is insanely hard. We all know those youtubers or streamers that are big on one game, but as soon as they stop playing that or the game dies they die with it. But you also have people like pewdiepie back in the day or xqc, asmon, whatever for streamers. They can really play whatever and people will watch it. For them people are more interested on the creator itself than the content, the perfect scenario honestly but few people can achieve that. A community is something that you have to cultivate and grow with time and investment, and also understand your audience for the content you are creating. To cultivate a new community or content for that community is hard, and usually slow. Like a growing plant you have to invest care and time on it until it can sustain itself, with the chance that you planted the wrong type or use methods that killed it over time, you have to understand the content that you're trying to put out with the community you are trying to grow or attract with it. Unless you're really lucky and the youtube algorithm just go nuts and boom a video like nothing else. Gaming content: gaming is a variety within itself, people watch it for different reasons, some people to pass the time while taking a dump, others to understand how to play efficiently, others for fun and dont even play the game but like watching it. Mobile games for the creator has the advantage of being filled with cashed loaded companies that sponsor a lot, so you dont have to depend on youtube ads. But i also think that you are more limited for type of content in it. Mobile games i see people looking more for guides and how to play, since is more expensive and usually in a competitive environment people want to know that the thing they are doing is right. Usually people watch for gameplays more action packed games like fps and moba, and even so, the mobile market is not that great for that with a very few rare exceptions. You said that you tried other things, like pc games and all that. But like you said it yourself, the community watching you right now are mostly for guides for and those specific mobile games. The people that usually watch that pc gaming content that you tried dont go to your channel or dont even know you exist, since you dont have a community for that. You would have to grow it or depend on the algorithm to snap that video to the top. But all and all, thank you for reading my autistic ranting on it, just think on the consumers pov and experience when delivering something for them, while also thinking on the long run for decision making.

I was playing Warhmmer Lost Crusade, but Nuverse had to shut it down. So they gave us a bunch of goodies to go over to their other game Land of Empires, and I'm just bored of it. I have somewhat quit the game, I wish I could brought our whole community of a few hundred from our game that got shutdown over to RoK. Truthfully I had watched Chisgule all the time when I was playing RoK, and even when I wasnt. I think the downfall of youtubers covering RoK is more on the game's downfall more than the content creator. And now that I'm out of interest for the game, I keep hoping that Chisgule brings to light another game that can catch my interest and makes videos that allow me to enjoy the game and his content lol. You do such a great job with your videos Chisgule. I've wanted to try and make youtube videos for a long time but just never had the confidence, or ideas to do it. But all that to say, no matter what path your channel takes, Im here.

Graphics upgrade would be good for RoK. Saw that video about what it could look like and it was nice. Really good video this one. You have to do what’s right for the business. But the conflict of enjoyment can make it difficult. Sometimes a change can be good. But do what you think is best for you. Business globally is a challenge. Even our company is going through redundancies. If you enjoy it, keep it up. Your happiness matters.

Rok has had a great run. I quit 18 months ago. I still think about it once in a while and tune to this KZbin channel to see what’s new. I think It will come to an end when the exciting players move to another game. I played 3 other games like this, kingdom or Camelot, Game of war and ROK. They were all city builder and alliance games. All were great at the time. While Rok has lasted longer than the first 2, I can see it dying out completely in the next year or two.

You do a great job and I enjoy your videos. I am like many of your subs a adult and only enough time to play ONE game. I have tried other games like COD to see if it's worth switching games but they disappoint. You weren't wrong going in on COD, it had the possibility of dethroning ROK. Your only mistake was not cutting losses when you saw that COD didn't catch on. Stay with ROK until it is dethroned then transion to that game. You have the talent you will be fine. You don't want to cannibalize your viewers prematurely.

Chisgule I recommend you play Age of Empires Mobile. Most of us have played AoE when we were younger... this game is gonna be it trust me. It has decades of branding already, when CoD came out nobody knew what it was.

I was with you till you said old players won't be leaving. This is the curse of the platform. I was in your alliance when you guys decided to leave for 1254. You get a massive influx of excited players that want to join you for the channel and because it's an open book as far as kd gameplay. But sooooooooo many of us are either one foot out the door or going close to or completely f2p moving forward.

Hey chisgule, I have watched a lot of your videos and like them a lot! It’s great content! I wonder if you could give me your thoughts on what I should invest in before my kvk3. I have like 550 golden sculptures and I can invest in expertise one SOC commander. I have thinking of Liu Che but I’m not sure if i should do that or split them between two commanders? I don’t have great secondary commander at this moment. No one from KVK2. I got like Pyrrhus 5511 and and a lot of epic. I also got expertised minamoto and aethelflaed expertised. Would love to know your thoughts on this .

Someone sounds burned out and is fighting it. We all get it, once you lose that passion for a game it can be torture to even log in. I quit RoK years ago, but you're passion -- which I found when you were playing Shop Titans -- made me stay subbed. But hearing you so focused on numbers, views, channels etc... is so typical and honestly very boring. When "hey I can get paid playing the game I love and I'm playing anyway, so, perfect job!" turns into "I don't wanna play that game anymore...but I want the subs and cash to keep rolling in..whah!"
