Great video! Humungousaur really started out strong (pun intended) and it's a shame that his appearances in UA and OV demolished his reputation. Though the Forever Knights episode is called "Be-Knighted", a play on the word benighted, not "Ben-Knighted." 15:18 Fasttrack love is always appreciated.

I always wished Humungousaur had a little more going on, both power and design wise, maybe a hulk style grows stronger but gets more animalistic and uncontrollable thing? I also always liked his Ultimate form much more, same with Swampfire tbh. Also cool fact, that second roar was used for King Kong in the 1976 movie.

I think the more animalistic and uncontrollable version would be Wrath. In the manner that Wrath is strong and fierce, however can be destructive, aggressive, or more rage induced compared to Humungousaur. However I do see the idea since muscle can equal aggressive or anger personalities for a dominant species of alien. At least from watching and understanding the small lore and how many of the aliens work.

I liked humungosaur growing up, but now feel he could've been a lot cooler if they leaned more into the kaiju inspiration. Make him naturally bigger to put him in a different weight class than four-arms or rath. Maybe give him a more primitive projectile attack to better foreshadow the ultimate form. He could have had his own niche appart from the other big bruisers.

I feel like the problem is they ended up misunderstanding what made Humungousaur interesting. He's not supposed to be a replacement for super-strength aliens, he's cool when he's a weaker Waybig. It's fun to see Ben use a HUGE alien, but one that's not as insanely powerful as Waybig. I mean 90% of the time the joke is that Waybig is TOO powerful and Ben gets someone else when he tries to use him, so having Humungousaur fill that "big alien" niche was what made him so cool. It let them do scenes where Ben can hold up the entirety of the Washington Monument, no other non-Waybig alien feels like they could do that.

I say this one makes the least amount of sense so from what I got, he hits his tail to the ground, and that causes some sonic waves.

i always thought if they wanted canon explanation they could have it that the growing is like flexing muscles or doing specific exercise's, like sure an amateur 'can' do them but you're more likely to hurt yourself by doing it wrong, and that without knowledge of how it works from like another vaxissaurian it hurts or feels like cramping or something after so many times he's using it, it's a biological trait the species can do but it might need some trick or knowledge to use properly. i wish they had made him also abit more monstruous in nature like you said not many aliens change his behavior so it would be good to give him that.

Honestly even when AF came out I never liked Humongousaur much, I thought he was pretty lame at least compared to the other aliens who came out around that time. It also got pretty repetitive seeing him used so much. Like even though Fourarms got alot of usage in the original, most of the original series aliens got a fair share of screen time (minus Ripjaws) so seeing him never felt dull. Over a decade later and my opinion hasn't changed much, I wonder what it was about Humongousaur that made the show push him so much as the poster child for UAF

To be honest I always considered the “super strength” aliens to be Swampfire, Chromastone and Diamondhead. Swampfire barely ever lost a fight and could actually hold his own against highbreeds and Vilgax Chromastone was similar against Vilgax and could fight that dragon mapmaker And Diamondhead was the only alien aside Waybig to actually beat Vilgax. Humungasaur just took too many Ls for me to care about him, even in his first damn appearance. From there it got worse. Vilgax, Dvoid, rematches against highbreeds, and then they did him dirty by putting him against his ultimate form in the final battle….

Thing about Humungousaur is there's nothing unique about him. Fourarms can do almost anything he can do and is the better fighter and if Ben really needed a big guy guess who else he has access to... All 10 of the classic aliens had a niche about them, Humungousaur is just so generic.

​@@thegreatscribbles960 I don't think they purposely shrunk anyone, the animators just overall sucked at consistent scaling, grey matter and his species are like 10 times bigger by the end of the series, gravattack's size changes episode to episode, scene to scene, cannonbolts size also changes from time to time. There would be no need to shrink four arms, humongosaur is much bigger either way, if anything they shrunk humongosaur, in omniverse they're the same size.

Hear me out, I watched every episode of Ben Ten a child, I even dressed up as him for a Halloween with a the cool Brainstorm/Green needle watch toy as a prop. I never watched the new reboot, and haven't really thought about the show for the better half of a decade. Recently I remembered this show and started rewatching clips, and I could remember mostly everything. My point is that I completely forgot Humoungusaur (That's a tough word to spell) could grow larger. Even after you said he could do that I still didn't remember. I like most aliens but I dislike Humoungusaur, because I believed he was a generic strength alien used to fix everything that brute strength could fix. He really did loose his unique ability and became blander. But the takeaway should be that you changed my mind on him for the better. Better to have been great at one point than to never have been great at all.

Man I really liked Humungosaur when I was young, I incorporated a lot of his characteristics and design into my character back then, I changed him to not be a copy of course. But I loved watching whenever he was on screen, it's a shame when new writers don't really look in depth into characters and why they were liked, resulting in a downfall/death sometimes. Good video

I love humangasaur, but the thing is, When you need strength, fourarms is there, and when he's in a situation where non of his other strong aliens can do anything, Way Big, And When you have Way Big, why go for humangasaur, because Way Big is Much MUCH faster, like xlr8 levels of faster, can shoot cosmic beams, and is way big

I blame Omniverse for the downfall, they change his desigh and his abilities and nerf him a bit. He was still extremely broke in terms of physicality and durability but sometimes he wasn't downgraded in OV. That's why i absolutely love him both in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, he was much more serious in those incarnations of ben 10

the reboot did better for Humungosaur while he still doesn't grow he's still big plus his tail attack was powerful enough to clear an entire forest. he's taken on mutated kevin and Bashmouth plus his Omni Kix armor gave off Godzilla vibes even if there are some bad moments I feel like the reboot got a lot of hate some deserved but it still has good moments

I wish we had more… personality changing aliens like rath. What if humongasaur was just extremely violent. Similar to rath but less show offy. More just an alien who can control his rage. Big chill barely talked at all. He was cold and silent. Four arms was a battle junky who just wanted to fight. They are still Ben but slightly different. Only rath got that which,.. is sad

I believe the reason they took away humongasaur's size ability is because they gave Ben WayBig back so there was no reason to animate his size change ability when Ben can on spot change into Waybig

Waybig is too big for most situations while humungousaur would be perfect. Best example would be when Ben fought the plumber kids inside a space ship. You can't turn into waybig in a space ship but you can turn into humungousaur and grow
