You're reducing an expanding and maturing medium to base level fun; gaming isn't children's toys any longer, it just isn't. Yes some games should be fun, but there's other ways to base enjoyment other than "Did I have fun playing this?" If we want games to grow as we grow we have to want different things and games challenging us in different ways is how we do that. Reducing it just to fun is too basic.

Uncharted 5: play as nate for first 5 minutes, then he gets brutally tortured from one of the nazi’s great great granddughter’s that he stole an mp40 off of in the first uncharted.. then play 2 hours of the game as Nate’s daughter looking for revenge, and 180 hours of the buff and trans great great grandaghter, trying to kill cassie, and her dog. In whose favor though? Nadine is a physically impressive highly-trained combatant, and Nate and Sam are just adventurers who get into fights sometimes. Just because it's a woman beating up two dudes, doesn't mean it's Woke BS. Amanda Nunes/Ronda Rousey/and Cris Cyborg all fought in the 135-45lbs range. Put any of them in the ring with any two 155lb-ish dudes you find on the street without extensive combat training, and you'll likely see them shred those dudes up.

Kingston Waddell Just imagine if the leaks were never released then, we would have never known we would play with Abby in the final game. and we would have been bamboozled with fake advertisements suggesting another Joel and Ellie adventure just like the first game. But it wasnt the case. No one cares about Abby. This is Joel and Ellies game. Period. People wanted MORE of Joel. You can see the trailer videos where Joel was revealed in 2016 and 2019 respectively. People screamed on the top of their lungs in excitement when they saw Joel. Joel is a beloved character by the entire gaming community. naughty dog just trolled us big time. And that we waited 7 years just for Joel and Ellie to interact in flashbacks?? This is a complete disrespect to the fanbase who loved the first game. It was about surviving against them, and trying to get Ellie to a place where they might can conjure up a cure, all the while showing a little girl having to grow up quick in this world, and a father learning to love a daughter again. This sequel seems to be less about character development while surviving a zombie apocalypse, and more about a random kill triggered a random character to cause trouble, leading u to hunt the random character, leading to a game a cat and mouse for no damn reason at all

The body language of Ellie, her clumsy gestures in the last scene of TLOU1 is simply awesome. How can it be so perfect? A teen finally deciding te ask THE question. Flawless. I won't by TLOU2. The staff changes unleashed Druckmann, no control, no feedback, forced and irrelevant LGBT agenda, shallow characters, loosy pacing, no-context brutality and endless pain to be forced to play a character you hate, because they want to tell their story by all means. C'mon. They couldn't keep their own well-thought standards to repeat TLOU's success. They've utterly failed and that's the responsibility of Druckmann to not let anyone near the story with a clear mind. And now all they can come up with is face-lifting Ellie (turning her into an artificial adult) and try to sell the 9year old game again for 70$. The end of a franchise.

Forcing main character to always be a white man between 30 and 50 because it's was what was the most popular is A OK, but once you start forcing female or trans main character, suddenly the fandom starts to realise that main characters are dictated by political and commercial rules. Yet, it was the biggest selling game debut for a PS exclusive. I've beaten the game already and can't agree on this reviewers. It shows a tremendous lack of plot knowledge or character. I always laugh when I see reviewers say The Last of Us Part 2 is a Revenge Game. It's totally wrong. It's quite the opposite. It's a story about forgiveness and the path you take to learning to forgive. Joel's death is a pinnacle for Ellie to learn about forgiveness because all Joel taught her in life was revenge. I think it's a brilliant game and story.

Thanks for a great video. picking up on what you said about the definition of fun. I have just finished playing The Last of Us 2. I had avoided the leaks and spoilers so was going in fresh. I can't deny it is a well made game, but it wasn't fun to play. I found the small talk chit chat boring to the point I wanted one or both to die just to shut them up. I never felt that at anytime with Joel and Ellie. Abby was to engage with which meant I didn't care about her, no empathy for what she had been through or anger at what she did and her actions. The inclusion of Lev and his sister brought nothing for me either. Everything seemed to miss the mark for me emotionally. I knew things weren't right when I had been playing for about 7 hours and decided to google the game's playing time, When it said 25-30 hours my enthusiasm sunk further still. So I get through to the end of the game. If only I had. They could have stopped it but have to keep gong a couple of hours more unnecessarily. I rate the first game as an 9/10 me. I rate the sequel 5/10. All the technical stuff is fantastic and amazing. It loses a lot for me as it has a boring story, fails to engage with me emotionally and so fails to be a fun game to play.

Such a great video. I enjoyed Uncharted 4 a lot but didn't know Amy Hennig started the concept and left half way which was later taken over by Neil Druckmann. I didn't care at all about Uncharted Lost Legacy, seemed boring and bland to me. But it all adds up. After Amy Hennig was pushed out of the company, the quality of the narrative and the overall gameplay as well took a nose dive. I predict Naughty Dog is going down in flames soon after Last of us 2 is released.

I dont even think the agenda was the biggest factor in making this story not..good. They literally just forgot about the fans, what made the first game great and instead opted to sacrifice 2 of the greatest characters ever created and their relationship to tell a story about revenge, grief, and loss and it didnt do that well at it.. Its been 2 days since i finished the game and im just sad at the story, we lost joel at the beginning, ellie loses a lot of her friends too including her father figure, and ends up basically alone in the end WITH her unsettling last conversation with joel the night before he dies. The story should have been about joel and ellie, and they marketed it like that too, thats all i gotta say. The flashback sequences of them 2 were amazing and what we all wanted, more of the 2 characters. Im in shock that when this was announced, neil repeatedly said that he wanted to do a story that was worth telling about these 2 characters.. and this was the story??

While I always felt like Uncharted games were a bit shallow and basic, they were at least fun for single play-through. Not something I rush out and pay full price for on day one, but I get around to playing them eventually. Whenever I see people turn on a developer, I always think about how Supergiant would talk about how nervous they were about premiering Transistor's reveal. There were expectations to follow up Bastion, but there were trying something new, taking their work in new directions, pouring their work into it, etc. And one of the devs said that they were very near pulling the plug on the game before even realising it, because they were so terrified of the community. It saddens me to think that wanton toxicity that seems to be growing more and more popular and frequent could have cancelled one of my favorite games, and even sadder to think of the games and developers that are effected, discouraged, and maybe even never seen, because of the hate bandwagons rolling out in droves nowadays 🙁

Just to make you guys less worried Ellie is not alone and when they show Ellie going back to the farm house you can see that her clothe is changed there is no gun on backpack her face ain’t bloody and bruised and most important she is wearing the hand thing that Dina gave her for good luck on the right hand and before she left Dina to go after Abby she wasn’t wearing that so that tells that she is still with Dina but not in the farm house anymore and when she went inside the house she didn’t feel sad or anything because she was either just revisiting the house or came back for the guitar but I’m still mad that they didn’t let Ellie to take revenge what were the devs thinking

I have personally witnessed Pokemon Sword/Shield going through backlash because of cut content, yet the game sold VERY well. What would make anyone think The Last of Us 2 would be any different?
