Remember, Royale High devs have never truly finished a map. When it was a Winx RP game, that wasn't finished. Hell even royale high 1 isn't done. There's stuff in there that is clearly unfinished or half done.

I played Royal High back when it was a Winx based roleplay game and that’s when it was at its best in my opinion. The school was complete, there were some cosmetic items that were mostly wings and simple skirts you could either buy with robux or by grinding for half a day or so but there was still a lot of options for new or f2p players, the classes were basic but they all had mini games and gave you an incentive to go by letting you gain gems and leveling up your crown.

I remember when this game first came out. It was different way different than what we have now. The dormitories were complete. The fairies had an under underwater dorm. The light fairies had a really big couch for some reason.😂 and then she did this big update, where she just Lazily stacked each of the dorms on top of each other and stacked each of the classes on top of each other… a lot of people I know stop playing after that

I quit playing because my login streak reset when I was 5 days away from reaching 365 days,but tbh the game updates suck now.Halloween update was trash,we want the mazes and the trick or treating not another pageant. Christmas update also was mid because where was the winter town to decorate the Christmas tree and get free gifts?To top it all off,they changed the login thing so now you don’t even get diamonds,you get cash to buy some random things from the login store😐

I’m so glad someone talked about how unfathomably expensive royale high is, like the robux to diamond count/ratio is CRAZY. I was once a very dedicated royale high player and there was just a moment where there was genuinely no point in playing anymore, it was just farm/buy, trade, wear, repeat. And it wasn’t even fun, it was quite literally just draining and obsessive. I had one halo during my timespan of playing and it wasn’t a big deal at ALL. I got it, was happy for a minute, and I just went to “ok so what now?” Since you can’t color some of them (and mine wasn’t colorable), i had to base every outfit I made around it (every outfit had to be pink😭) bc i worked so hard for it and didn’t want to take it off. Was this halo hard to trick color or did you never learn the trick for outfit coloring it? Edit: if it is a valentines halo it probably still be awkward since the flowers are like pixalated different though. Was easier to do the trick color with old winter halos though.

I agree the robux to dim ratio is horrid. My first halo which was hard as heck to get was the 2018 winter one with the crystals. Values kept moving so much. This is back in like 2020 or 2021? When i decided i wanted to get it and was tired of being halo less, i grinded hard to save up to 500k which at the time most were selling for 400-450k and i knew it would jump up 50k by the time i saved up for it. Right when i finished saving for it, most were wanting 550k-600k. Took me almost a month of grinding i even had a nightmare about it. Some kind soul sold it to me for 500k. I almost cried when they said,"hey it's yours you worked hard and earned it." I loved it and since my aesthetic is a ice fairy was easy to glitch it into colors i wanted and it came out pretty cute too. I aint played in awhile though since all that youtuber drama and the announcement of a new school campus 4. Edit: i did see it as a cute fun dress up game but it felt like the care that went into it before just went out the window. And the old stuff being taken away hurts. I kind of miss that old flutter outfit even if it was supposedly a copyright thing why it got removed. Best shoes for wearing the train bow dress.

The most annoying part is when someone says “you don’t miss old Roblox, you miss being happy!” But I GENUINELY miss how simple it was since campus 3 literally crashed my computer and it’s so so bright I can’t see. I think dti becoming really big is also a factor, the main appeal of rh is the customization yet there's a lot of paywalls and farming to get one good outfit. Meanwhile DTI straight up offers u these things from the beginning, sure there's the vip pass but it's a one time payment meanwhile rh u have to spend either hours or tons of money to buy those outfits

​@burgermeowmeow No, you don't buy the new sets with robux, you have to buy dolls that are 10-50 US dollars + shipping. If the toy is sold in stores then there's a good chance someone tampered with the toy and stole the code that you use to get the set in game. Now there's a new set that can only be obtained if you log in 216 days. Thankfully those days don't need to be in a row, but it's still frustrating

I'm one of the guys that spent several millions on his dorm, 1. If u have a nice dorm gl getting in there since it can easily lag out the server or crash, sometimes half my dorm doesn't even load properly which is frustrating and the entire furniture moving system is very very frustrating especially when u do detailing, sometimes items just disapear alltogether 2. Dorm saves r basicly useless since u can't reuse any of the items u put in a dorm, if its there its gone 3. 90% of items r offset and that fact is very noticeable and tedious for a perfectionist 4. Most "toggles" r just a resize which became pointless after they added a resize that is just as pointless and honestly? Just because an item has 50 toggles doesn't mean it should be that expensive since i won't use most of those toggles I will NOT start with my issue of the masc items (And lack of mermaid and ingeneral ocean themed stuff, RIP mermaid tails)

the comparison is perfect actually because while genshin has a large variety of activities to do, a lot of them are extremely time consuming for very little reward. a good example would be how i stayed up all night doing the natlan archon quest because the way its set up doesn't allow you to take breaks ( if you leave the area you have to play through content you already completed and considering how long it was, that was an absolute no from me ), and i played through nearly 8 hours worth of content for a SINGLE PULL. i got lyney like i hoped but i was on a 50/50. so if i had lost it then that would unironically have caused me to quit the game for good bc an entire night of grinding for a singular pull and then losing the gacha ... that's just vile.

quitting royale high hurt because i had so many good memories roleplaying with my friend on there. but eventually i just didn’t have time to farm for hours anymore. i couldn’t bear the thought of coming back to royale high and seeing everyone walk around in new skirts and heels while i was 6 updates behind. i know its hard to understand, but when you’re a collector who fought tooth and nail to get EVERY last skirt, heel, and set-falling behind just wasn’t an option. that was when i realized that i was never logging back on to royale high, because it had turned into nothing but a farming game. i gave everything i had collected over the years to my roleplay friend, but to my knowledge she no longer plays royale high either. it saddens me what royale high has become in the years after i left, because royale high has and always will hold a special place in my heart.

For anyone wondering how lack luster the updates during the “we’re gonna add a new school!…in 3 years or so!” Time was: I was playing at that time, and stopped playing during that 1-2 years (can’t remember how long this was.) because every update was just reused. They reused the Christmas update, Halloween update, valentines update, etc. the only “new” things were items that you could only get/buy during those seasons. So, if you had already gotten everything last year, there was no point in playing those events. We didnt get any new sets, accessories, skirts, shoes, etc. we might’ve gotten halos? Can’t remember, but you can probably tell by seeing if there’s a weird gap in halo years (someone in the comments corrected me. There were new halos but their values were very very low. I think it might have been an attempt at making halos less rare, because trading kinda exploded at this point, as well as values. For reference, the Halloween halo with the lil ghost on it was worth like 5 mil diamonds at some point if I remember correctly? And the new halos were worth maybe 100k-500k or so.) But there was basically no more content for a whole year if I remember correctly. We might’ve gotten a few accessories? I think?? But basically nothing new. It sucked. (Off topic rant I started doing bc I played this game almost since it came out and I’m so upset-) I stopped caring about the school at that point, bc I saw the school as a hindrance from getting actual new updates. And I think that’s when I quit. Also, the way they released the school in phases was SO horrible. I first thought it was to build more hype, and thought it would release a new phase every day. Then I thought it was every week…and now we have like 5 or 6 areas, and two pretty lack luster classes with pretty boring mini games. One of which is just people drawing what the correct answer is instead of people actually playing the game. Because all we do is farm diamonds now. Also, no, campus 3 will probably never happen, because they’re ALREADY working on campus 4 from what I understand. Because there were so many complaints about 3. And it’s even funnier to me how they’re doing this in a few months/a year, compared to the 3 years and constant attention and work campus 3 apperantly needed for…like, 6 phases. Currency does suck. It used to be way way cheaper, and the most expensive thing was maybe 50k. And that was A LOT. Now, every set is at least over 80k or so, and you gotta get it quick before it goes away at the end of January because it’s a Christmas item! I was in a very depressive state in 2020-2021, and wasted so much time in royale high. I can tell you, as someone who played almost 24/7. Farming is NOT fun. It’s soul draining. Also, in all that time of playing, I never won a halo. I only traded for maybe 4. To be fair, I didn’t do the fountain every single day. But it’s still worth mentioning. Bringing up bloxburg, in bloxburg, I can farm the pizza delivery for an hour and get about 140k with 50 levels on both the job and experience. Which is more than enough to build a decent house. In royale high, I would get like, 10k (I think? I’m not subjecting myself to that again) and that’s enough to buy me a pretty common and cheap skirt, maybe some wings.

I am a masc RH player. I'm actually trans, so roleplaying on roblox as a guy before I came out really helped me discover my gender. I enjoyed the dressup available to me with the free clothes, hair, accessories etc. from the general roblox catalogue, but the payed items never really held my interest because they are so focused on fem players. Yes, Royale high campus 4 is a real thing, aaand I am pissed about it. Sure, it has the classic royale high campus feel, but they didn't even finish the third school before releasing the early access to high level players. In comparison to the standards we now have aesthetically I just don't think it holds up, we can't really know how good it will be for roleplaying until it is actually finished but as of now both new schools are lifeless when it comes to actual people playing and experiencing the game as how it was originally intended.

Here's the Thing Back two years ago when we had that Issue with the BHM Update. Launce (Barbie's Husband) Said ON STREAM that they weren't gonna do waves anymore cause they create more issues/work. Now this was Cause the Year before in the Summer Update(When we got Diamond beach.) they Couldn't get the Third Wave of the Update out in time so they Instead Gave us the Halloween Update and Cause The BHM update wave Never came out and it Pissed off the Black RH player Community causing Outrage. So Launce said that,he KNEW that it cause issues/more work....but they decided to Release the Third Campus in waves Anyway. I believe they said they did this to Reduce lag if it had Came out all at Once but Even Still You KNEW that releasing it in waves would be a Problem! You still did it and now the Third Campus ain't even Finished Just like that Summer update.

As a person who as been playing rh since it came out. The price tags are insane the most expensive halo last time I checked was 7mil. Without having payed multipliers I use to spend hours and hours farming only to get to 10k dims. I wouldn’t even recommend playing rh unless you plan on buying both dim multipliers. I feel like the time it took me to get 10k without multipliers = the amount of time it took me to get 100k with multipliers. It’s definitely not new player friendly it took me years of playing rh and I wouldn’t call my inventory top tear at all.

I play royale as a male. I feel so so upset at RH. It's so expensive, and there is basically nothing for male players or females who just like to play as a male. The new bodices for men are also so small. I have had so many things go wrong. I love dress up games even though I'm male. It is one way I can represent myself. I have been playing for 3-4 years. It was one of the first games I played when I was new to roblox, but I have stopped playing. I am just so upset. I'm sorry for dumping. It makes me quite sad seeing royale highs downfall. I started playing back when it was enchantix and the earlier days of it as well I mean like when the light fairy dorm room was gone because the dark fairy’s stole it. I loved it as a kid and I was there for every event. I literally spent every New Year’s Eve on it. It used to have so much character but now it’s just so soulless and all for profit. Even back when enchantix was first out the wings were free! Now the wings that were free can be pretty hard for new players to obtain! Also as someone who had played royale high for nearly a decade I couldn’t even catch up! If I log back in now my character is a freshman or whatever and I think I have like 50k at the most and I used to spend hours farming! It’s literally impossible unless you pay real money or don’t have a life outside of royale high apparently.

3:01 SO. I can actually answer this, February 2022. This was when the massive scandal of her husband deciding it was a great idea to essentially talk down to a bunch of very sweet, young women (in their teens), who where also black influencers in the community over the cancelled BHM update....that those same influencers had helped with and where extremely upset about because they HADN"T BEEN INFORMED BEFOREHAND. This wasn't the first time either of them (Nightbarbie/Launcealot) had been extremely questionable in their behavior or had said/done something they really shouldn't have. This wasn't even the first time Launce had fought with young fans and talked down to them, but this was the first time it had been done live in front of THOUSANDS of players. That was a massive hit to the games image, a LOT of people rightfully left/quit, and that was also when I believe RH went on its year and a half long hiatus to work on C3. Before 2022 though. RH already had already fallen into bad patterns of lackluster updates, half-baked maps with very minimal to do, frustrating quests you couldn't really get help with because it was randomized for everyone, and removing long established systems from the game to make things slightly more difficult. --- I fully believe the only reason RH is even still standing is because there hasn't quite been a game yet that has the same level of quality RH originally had. The closest was Crowned Academy, but they had ripped assets from RH and got into a lawsuit which hurt the game and damaged its rep before it even came out of development. They're on borrowed time from a mix of sunken cost fallacy, and lack of options in that particular genre. Its only going to take a single game that does it RIGHT with similar quality for RH to pretty much die overnight unless they make drastic changes. Even then I think their screwed, because if you could do that the whole time why did it ever get this far in the first place?

Hey mate, former Royale High player here, you were pretty spot on. I played for two reasons, for roleplay and for the character creation. Personally I enjoy most of the items they have to offer, because they are beautiful models and really help make a character come to life, which was also great for roleplay!! Having a fun, detailed design for an OC you use for RP was so lovely, so I enjoyed when a bunch of items were added. You said you didn’t really care about them which is so fair, but I wanted to add why I did. But then the prices just kept climbing and it wasn’t worth it anymore, but I was losing out and beautiful items and it sucked. I also didn’t hate farming, but they removed the good farming method that was pretty efficient, though grind-y. That whole character creation aspect got thoroughly fucked, but thankfully I had items from before, so I could still do it to some extent. And role playing was still around, wasn’t it? And yet it wasn’t. I was lucky enough to join a private server RP group for a while, though we all lost interest in the game eventually. But you could never find roleplay in public lobbies. Private server RP groups were few and far between, and were dwindling still. The campus 2 and Enchantix were taken over by farmers, with no one really RPing there anymore, and Campus 1 followed, though people generally used it wayyy less for anything. All we really had left was the hotel, since it has no function aside from roleplay. Then it got removed, and That marked the end of there EVER being any public server RPs, which in turn chased away private server RPers. You could try and scramble for people if you had a friend with you, server hopping for an hour straight trying to collect a few people to start something with, but it almost never worked. The core of the game was entirely lost, there was no fun dress up or character making, only a poorly made grinding system, and no RPs of any kind, private, public, or general server wide, left with only more fucking grinding. I also wanted to touch on masc clothes since you went over it, and you were so correct on that, but I have another point to add. Yes the player base is mostly girls, but that doesn’t mean in our RPs that we don’t want guys, or enjoy RPing as guys. Girls use the male stuff a ton, especially when new stuff for it was slowly being added. I’ve been in multiple RPs where the characters were majority male, and none of us were guys. Everyone benefits from more male items. Sorry I went on a bit of a tangent, but as someone who played for YEARS, I got Roblox back in like 2016, specifically to play Royale High, this issue is close to my heart. I grew up on it and watching it descend into this kinda horrible game(despite its beauty), sucks. Nothing scratches that itch like role high roleplay did. But yeah.

I have over 400k diamonds in royale high, almost every set until 2022, 2 game passes, and yet I don't ever want to play it again. For a full year the *only* thing that my mind was set to was to farm and get 100k (to get new items and sets) Soon 100k became 200k and then 300k, by that time royale high wss nothing but a chore. My mom even started worrying about me thinking I was addicted to a dress-up game but I was addicted to becoming "rich". It was because being average wasn't enough. You *cannot* "survive" and keep up with items as a casual player. When the new school came out my love for royale high came back and because of deleted items + refund I ended up with 400k. Suddenly there was hope, but it lasted a month. Theres no point in playing anymore, and there's 0 fun roleplay, infact none at all. I used to trade alot but after a while it just seemed boring, like what is the point really? When I was farming day and night, I would get headaches just staring at a screen. I had an effective farming routine, but I only leveled up around 5 levels and got maybe 10k(probwbly less). All my freetime was spent (not even willingly) on a game because of the peer pressure of having items and being rich. Whenever I see royale high I feel sorry for myself but also extremely stupid because my younger self was slaving away just to feel like I was rich and could afford to buy items. EVEN THEN it felt like I was wasting my diamonds when I'm buying heels for 50k. Thats half of 100 000. For shoes? Sure they have more toggles so you get more styles but it's compeltely insane how much it costs and it looks almsot the same from afar! Even so my favorite place was sunset island, I loved dressing up and for a time I met people like me, who had farmed for the fashion and we could see eachother make gorgeous and inventive outfits which was why we played the game! But ofc that became repetitive after awhile and it practically became what dress to impress is now in a lot of servers. I just wish there was a way to bring back the joy of playing games like this.

I joined in august 2022, so right when rh peak era was gone. I remember one time when I was at campus 2, two girls where doing a Yandere Simulator roleplay and a girl asked me to be a dead student. All I did was laying on the ground for 2 minutes but for some reasons I still consider it as one of the greatest time I had in rh. I joined the game because it combined two things I loved ; fantasy and roleplay. But now it's just farming and sets. I recently re-joined and I couldn't feel the spark that I had when I first started. I'm super sad that the game is flopping. It has great potential but the devs's greed and empty promises ruined everything. No matter what they do players will always have something negative to point out.

Royale high system of grinding is being mentioned a lot but I want to touch more in the physiological aspect of it. During the Halloween event, we had a special currency of candies which could only be acquired by spending time by trick or treating in individual houses for about 3-8 candies, or by bobbing for apples which had 1/4 chance of getting you 10 candies by clicking a prompt (10 became 25 in year 2023). The set released in 2023 cost around 40,000 candies all in all. That was for three items, a skirt, a sword/ belt, and a bodice. Now I want to touch on this as someone who got those items. People mentioned that RH is a grindy game which it is, but many don’t seem to touch on the fact that it is physiologically damaging for children and teens, hell even adults to sit down and stare at their screens for around 6 hours straight. But from my own experience grinding the set, it took two full weekends (4-6 days) for me to get the set apple bobbing. I sat in front of my screen for around 10 hours consistently tapping a button every few seconds. This led to me skipping on meals, or forgetting to eat, and sitting in a chair for long periods of time. I know for fact that most of the player base was teens, and literally children just entering puberty. Yes, there were adults but the amount is incomparable to minors. Children and teens developing need more food, care, and sleep and often experience short term or long term depression or behavioral issues. This all led to more stress, anxiety, and boosted my depression that was already plaguing my life on top of damaging my health physically ( I ended up diagnosed anemic at one point during this stage in my life. That was how often I was eating. Not because food was gross or anything, but because getting virtual items to dress up with was seen as more important to me.) TLDR; Grinding is damaging the mental and physical health of players when it gets to the point that RH was. This repeated method of grinding was so prevalent that I as a child found it normal to grind for periods of 4-10 hours a day. Most players did too at the time.

the devs are so lazy and stubborn, they see their game dying yet STILL release updates late, unwanted items, sets, maps, game-modes, etc. campus 3 was in development for over 4 years (and is still coming out) yet they rushed into campus 4 (literally just a laggy campus 3 that's all in one map) which ALSO is not finished. they still haven't added toggles since they removed masculine sets, their marketing and communication as to what comes out when things come out was terrible... it's a complete MESS. i thought dress to impress taking over would spark competition and light a fire under behinds but they aren't budging.

Royale High was what pushed me into creating a Roblox account in the first place. It was so fascinating for me back then and I would play it every day till midnight. I one day decided I would try to get the 365 day login achievement, and bent myself backwards trying to get it done to the point where it just consumed me and my personal life. When I lost my streak at day 361, I gave up on Royale high all together. The novelty wore off and I just didn’t care for it anymore. I started playing fantasia back when it was still that dingy castle before many of the updates and loved it, and now I play dress to impress which always reminds me of what Royale high once was to me. Seeing its downfall is a complicated feelings for me, and whenever I see it on the home page now I feel rueful. In reality, Royale high is literally just the Roblox version of capitalism nowadays, and although I don’t play much role play anymore I still feel so nostalgic thinking back to the times when I would happily dress up my little RH character trying to save up for my first skirt.

7:35 Speaking of the Halloween updates, does anyone remeber that one year they had like a trick or treat event with all the clothing stores that provided outfits for the game where you would travel to all these different stores and collect candy around the maps for rewards? I think they did it for Easter and MAYBE Christmas too. I can't remember correctly. But I loved that event and wanted them to do it again so badly ever since. That Halloween map was fun though. I am a REAL OG fan of Royale Hígh, I used to play it back when it was still called: "Fairies and Mermaids (Winx) High School" (or something similiar), it was about Winx Club and it was my favourite game on roblox due to that, so... seeing it "progress" into this state is just dissapointing. I understand that they left the Winx era due to copyright, but even back then they still went on a pretty good track of just a princess game. I started playing RH when it first came out, I’m talking about the time when everyone would spawn around that big fountain and stuff. I was actually a very loyal player, I had all the game passes, did spend time farming but best of all, roleplaying (which was a lot more popular at the time and it was honestly more weird see someone farming than roleplaying, lol). Over time they added new features to the game like sunset island, which I REALLY loved, and ofc the trading hub - but I think that’s where it all went wrong. The trading hub was honestly never about casually getting cute items by exchanging them to something you didn’t want anymore: the second that thing appeared people started going INSANE for halos, way more than before, and spending ridiculous amounts of money for limited items. It wasn’t fun, it was stressful. But the thing that really made me quit was when they removed the old farming method (which was basically teleporting to the school, collecting the most valuable diamonds and going back so they would spawn again). With the best farming method getting removed and new sets coming out all the time, it was just not motivating to play anymore. All this happening while the prices would go crazier and crazier was just the final strike. RH basically just became the most capitalistic game where you do nothing but grind diamond all day just so you could buy something MAYBE after like 2 weeks. And yes, there were farmers even before this, but it was much more credible: if I wanted a set, I could definitely get it all within like a day. People could have the items they wanted AND roleplay, which was really the golden time of the game. However now people are just fixating on hard-to-get items and forgetting what RH is really about. The best parts of the game are being removed all just to add more stress and pay-to-win to the game. Sometimes I really miss playing Royale High, but knowing that my memories of it are things that will never come back, I know I won’t play again.

i've played royale high with my little sister ever since it released as a winx rp game, we found out about the game via a brazilian youtuber who made videos on enchantix high. both of us loved playing the game, but during the pandemic we stopped and came back in early 2022. my little sister lost her account since she had built a game with free assets that might have been hacked, so she had to start from scratch. at first we both tried to help her get more diamonds and items but it was a bit harder than before, and nowadays it's practically impossible. so now my little sister doesn't play rh anymore. it makes me really sad, since it's a game that was a part of our childhood and it's sad to see her let go of a game that was so dear to her. after watching your video, i went over to my sister (she's 11 now) and asked her what she thought of royale high. she said that it was better before. she said she didn't like the new update because it was too complicated and she couldn't even understand what she was supposed to do. and that she missed when everyone would do these fun activities in the classes together and when things weren't so expensive. even the little ones know what's up. i also don't play it anymore, sometimes i take a look at how things are doing but i can't spend more than 15 minutes on it since it's so boring. it felt a lot more welcoming and much more like a passion project back in 2017-2019, the last update i remember being excited about was the apartment update in late 2019. i think that the whole thing that made royale high enjoyable for everyone wasn't items, it wasn't diamonds, it was the roleplay aspect of it. the best memories i have of playing this game aren't of buying a new skirt or getting this super rare item, it's the hours long roleplays i'd have with total strangers, and those were amazing. i think the devs don't understand that that is what made their game special and enjoyable. the rh environment nowadays is so hostile, everyone is competing to see who has more rare items and more diamonds, it's just not fun. a bit off topic, but one of the reasons that playing royale high got boring for me is that the original songs that were in campus 1 were replaced, and those were so beautiful, one that i never forgot was yasashisa ni tsutsumareta nara from kiki's delivery service, i think that those songs really added to the game's atmosphere and the ones that are played in the game nowadays aren't that good. or maybe that's just me.

I started playing RH when campus 3 released. I really liked it and I couldn't stop playing till this day. I think the most hated things they have done are the doll items and the delayed updates. The doll items are horrable, you need to trade for it, for a big big price or buying the toy which costs like 50 dollars I think. They need to calm down with those toys, their diamond price is as high as a halo. And one more thing, ROLEPLAY SHOULD COME BACK. People should roleplay more, like they used to. ❤

I agree with everything. When I first started playing it last year everyone was doing role playing but now when I go in no one is role playing and it makes me feel sad and super awkward. I wish it was more like bloxburg and Fantasia. I love playing those games. I played royale high since I was like 8 years old, and I was soo excited for the new school in 2020 where they had so much time Becuase there’s no school, and I stayed loyal to them while they were working because I saw teasers and it looked so amazing! But then, 3 years later, I wasn’t really playing I think I don’t really remember but when I joined to check out the school, there was phases. more than 10. 3 YEARS and a school isn’t even finished?? You actually talked about how freaking expensive this game was. I swear when I was playing before it was quite literally not that much or even before it. I stopped playing near the start of 2021 and stuff was pretty expensive already. People were even DYING to get the shadow empress sleeves for almost three times the amount.... But now thats not even crazy anymore, the amount of diamonds you'd need to just get an accesory for your neck or arms. Not even heels, a skirt, or a corset for that matter. I remember when it was based off the TV Show Winx Club and god, it somehow had MORE stuff back then, than what royale high has now. Its really sad and disapointing seeing the game turn out to this now.

it really is upsetting, i started playing royal high in 2018 and enjoyed it so much! it was much simpler back then and i loved how easy it was the roleplay whenever you wanted with anyone. it was so fun, but its near impossible to find anyone to roleplay with now. and i dont know if its just because we are all older now or what.. but if it is because of that then it is very disappointing that none of us got to experience the new schools when we were in our peak roleplay era, because now the new schools are just ghost towns.

i’ve been playing it since 2018. when the cupcake/baking class didn’t exist yet in campus 1, back when chicken heels were still a thing, and back when the only expensice item to buy was for 10k. the only anticipated thing about roleplaying was when there was a boy in the server, and when prom happened every girl in the server would always try to impress him 🥲 i was the few players that act like i didn’t ‘care’ about him in hopes that he will notice me for being ‘different than the other girls’ lol. i was 9. i can never replay that again

i played RH obsessively when i discovered it in 2019. i loved the dressup aspect and the flexibility of character customization and the world was small but so large in spirit. but here's why i stopped playing: 1. the prices. no cuz this is the main reason and also the reason so many other people quit RH. the prices of any new clothing item or accessory is absurdly high. i remember when the most expensive item in the game was like 50k but there was only one set that cost that much which is fine-- but now, 50k is more like an average minimum almost, and we have corsets and skirts that cost up to 80k dims. the problem is that there is NO WAY to farm enough money to get them from the shop fast enough (considering you only get 200dims for participating in a SI pageant and up to 1000k if you win) as there is practically no alternative way to farm for dims other than in SI unless you're determined to cheat and be glued to your screen all day long (these pageants take about 20mins a round might i add)...which just isn't fun? 2. the focus on materialism. ever since the trading hub was introduced in 2020, the community gradually became less active in the fun and roleplay aspect and has now become totally a collector's game. you get online, and all you're met with is players who basically killed their social life to farm and get whatever overpriced items they walk around in andddd yeah that's pretty much it. nobody even plays to chat or talk anymore and i remember feeling so lonely compared to my earlier days in the game. some kids even take it a step further and are just flat out mean or rude especially towards "broke" players, even if they're just new. when i got over this, i was OKAY with just focusing on dress-up, but it eventually got out of control due to the prices and now there doesn't even feel like there's a reason to play it anymore. again, not fun. 3. too many updates. may be an unpopular opinion, but i notice that when any roblox game gets too many updates, it just becomes overall worse. one example i can think of is Mad City (i remember when it used to be straight-forward with how criminals can do crime and how much more convenient it was to navigate the city, before the devs expanded it into a maze of idk what and made criminal activities so much unnesesarily difficult). Royal High has a similar problem, mainly with the newer updates that came with the third campus where simply teleporting around takes an extra 20 seconds because they want you to click on ur scepter and enter it manually every goddamn time you wanna move. there needs to be a balance between a game's simplicity and complexity. moreover, it's just become hard to keep up with all the pricy new sets and events. even the free outfits catalog is WAYYYYYY too long and impossible to look through, especially when the search bar doesn't filter anything correctly. this also applies to the hair colors catalog and the faces catalog. there's also so many copy-pastes of the same shit.. and dare i say straight up ugly designs that NOBODY uses. not fun. 4. it just doesn't seem like Barbie cares? everytime the RH complains about anything, it seems to go in one ear and out the other. racist and transphobic allegations aside even, it just doesn't feel like in practice that she cares about the satisfaction of her players nor does she value their time, energy, and support enough to listen to the community and fix what needs to be fixed or simply STOP fixing what isn't broken. it doesn't feel like she respects anyone's efforts or money, and i assume it's likely because she thinks the kids will eat up anything she throws at them. nottttt funnnnn. there's more reasons but these are the main ones. i haven't touched RH since the summer (gave up on even trying to pretend i care atp) and am now happily a League addict /hj

I used to be REALLY into both Royale High itself and the community. I used to make videos, wrote fountain stories, made art for it and even ran a Twitter page for shouting out underrated Royale High content creators. I was there since the game came out, and unfortunately was in the TRENCHES during all the controversies. When I tell you there was something coming out every week that Launce or the other devs did. And so much of it did indeed boil down to them sacrificing so much of the game for the sake of the new school. I particularly remember when they deliberately cancelled the Black History Month update because they were supposedly too busy working on the school. That was pretty bad, and if I remember correctly that led to a really infamous Launce comment during a live. It's insane that they burned bridges with so much of the community for the sake of a school that only partially released and that everyone got bored of within a week. And it's the fact they didn't even finish it and just announced Campus 4. And then when they FINALLY start making new content, most of it requires real life money or insane grinding to enjoy. This game and community was such a big part of my life for a couple years. Yet nowadays I pop back on like once every few months and have barely spoken to anyone from the community. So much of the game is just about wealth at this point. You farm to become rich, you trade to become rich and then when you get everything you want, you just... stand there and look rich. It's not fun and there's nothing to do. And it's a bad system for new players since they have no real reason to get invested at this point. Heck, even as someone who played for a while and was considered "rich" in like 2021-2022, having not played for a couple years has made it so I'm so much farther behind every other person in the game. Whenever I do occasionally pop back on, it has me asking "what's the point?" There's no motivation to pick it back up again, so I just don't. I remember why I left in the first place and stop playing again. The community is just gone and I think that's the worst part. That was the part I always loved the most. Most of the prominent KZbinrs have moved on to other games or stopped posting altogether. And people don't laugh and joke around with each other like they used to. It just sucks that a long line of bad decisions have caused the community to break apart like it has. The community itself had its own fair share of issues, but I think most of the blame for the fallout lies on the devs and the game itself. Sorry if this came out as disjointed or rambly, atp I'm just ranting as I listen to what's being said the video. *EDIT:* Also heck yeah another Fantasia player! Speaking of halos, back when they came out, I managed to get a dark one on my second time at the fountain, and I wore it all the time with no problem. When I returned to see how the game was last year, I had a bunch of random people trying to convince me to trade my halo. It got to a point where I had to stop wearing it just to play the game without being asked to trade. Then I just stopped playing cause it got boring.

I played Royale high since 2018 to about 2021. Got banned because I was scammed by somebody and I tried appealing it for 3 years. They denied it multiple times and I lost so much time and energy I put into the game. I had multiple halos, some of the best skirts and over about 9mil diamonds. I’m sort of relieved NOW because it has went so downhill since I got banned. I’m glad you made a video about it because it is ridiculous prices. Really upsets me how some people feel so pressured by A GAME they have loved for years.

I was one of the most loyal royal high players ever since 2017. When she first dropped this game, I fell in love instantly. Because it was a carbon copy of Winx, and I was a huge fan of Winx. I watched this game grow and grow. And ever since 2021 hit, that’s when things started to go sideways. Things started to get so expensive. The game started to lose its point. There was no starter for the newcomers. Everything was so ahead. How could anybody new catch up? Everybody was farming. Everybody was trading everybody was racing to go get the newest set. No one even talks to each other anymore, no one even role-plays anymore and it’s very upsetting. Watching this game slowly disappear into nostalgia, even though it still alive, it’s just a money grab in pink glitter. She used to really care about this game. I remember when she used to post on KZbin about the newest updates and everybody would just jump out of their seats. I would remember how all the KZbinrs were racing to go to that game and react to the newest set and buy it and just have fun now that game is just empty and hollow and boring and now I’m the most biggest hater of that game.

As someone who used to play royale high religiously in 2017…It’s downfall is so sad! Royale high could’ve been something so good, instead it’s now a messy cash grab of a game that’s so unfamiliar to me :(

Everything you said is so true. I'm so glad you're not sugarcoating it. As a player who tried Royale high a little in 2020 easter egg hunt, and joined back halfway Dec 2024, I was so lost and got frustrated enough to nearly give up, right from the start, not knowing how to find tasks, then how to get a textbook, how to get a brush, how to find dorm, how to do all these tasks correctly, how to get an element etc. I hate when you have to google how a freaking game works, that means the game is seriously lacking. How hard is it to add a tutorial? Or even just tips? Clearly every beginner struggles with these same things. Definitely not beginner-friendly, and I'm sure it's also partially the reason there are only about 6k active players (compared to around 100k a year ago). I'm also really fed up with people excusing the creators, defending them and their endless greed. I joined back at a really unfortunate time... Btw, I wasted time on the monstercat game in RH, collecting all those tokens, just to find out you can't apparently get the cat headphone item anymore. Complete waste of time, and they didn't bother to remove it from diamond beach map, or add a disclaimer (it says you can still get it. Maybe if you pay Robux which is crazy for 1 item). This game deserves all the criticism.

I played royale high recently and got pretty kinda addicted to it. But before i saw videos criticize the game and i can see by playing it. The grinding , the ridiculous price items and so on. I like that game but i can see why people quit , the developers arent really good at taking criticism at all. They should be professional about criticism instead of not listening acting high and mighty or childish about their game. At the end of the day its a business why the hell wouldn't they made a toyline too.

thank you for taking about non beginner friendly the game is!! my account got banned so i had to start fresh on royale high and it was so unnecessarily difficult to complete quests, even as someone who's played since enchantix. a mattress on the floor costs 1,500 diamonds, which you need to complete 1 quest plus levelling up energy in general. a toothbrush costs 1,500 diamonds which you need to complete one quest, and a hairbrush costs 1,750 diamonds to complete one quest. and to obtain a textbook you have to buy one from the locker store which is needed to complete 3 quests, for 2k! ALL OF THOSES COSTS ARE THE CHEAPEST OPTIONS POSSIBLE!! It costs a beginner player 6, 750 diamonds just to be able to complete 6 quests out of 33!! NOT TO MENTION NEW PLAYERS ONLY GET ONE QUEST SLOT TO START WITH!! and even as a vetern player, when the new school came out I had no idea that I had to buy the items needed to complete the quests when the school first came out, new players shouldn't need to google how to do certain quests, on top of having to farm for that amount of diamonds assuming they know nothing about the game in the first place. rant over lol callmehbob please fix ur currency system omll

8:16 real 😔 11:43 FRRR The fact that roleplaying is basically gone is heartbreaking to me, I used to spend hours roleplaying in that map (I forgot the name) where u picked you’re power, got a dorm key and the power and got to go into your house, for example if you chose animal power, you’d go into the animal house with the gorilla, during these games I would have so much fun, especially trapping people/ getting trapped in the cell that was in the dark room. I also miss roleplaying in the fantasia hotel, trying to decide who gets the mermaid bedroom, being the maid/ security and going to the pool Sorry if Im on a lil rant but I remember the new years update so much, I remember getting all the new years items and trolling people with the rat. I still glad the apartment is up though, I remember flooding the house, walking in on my friend on the bathroom (lol) I honestly just miss when Royale High was simpler and not just about getting diamonds and trading

I used to play Royale High a ton when I first joined Roblox back in 2017. The second school had just come out, but I mainly always played in the Hotels, Winx School, and sometimes the second school map. The amount of roleplayers you'd find there was very ample. Like, this was the era where your name was also whatever RP information you wanted people to know--everyone shits on the "Raven/demon and light fairy/angle/single" stuff, but that was just how it was back then, and hell, it was fun. I mean, you open up the chat and you're instantly met with chats upon chats of several different non-consecutive roleplays. And it was SO FUN. It's obviously been years since 2017, and I think the trading hub is where it all went downhill especially. The moment it became available to get a special item that used to be unavailable, that was all people wanted to do. Then when they got it, they focused on something else, and that's how literal *Roblox* inflation happened: everything was in such lower demand because value was dropping quickly and by extension, bigger prices became a common thing. I remember being overjoyed that I had 7,000 diamonds back in 2018: more recently, when I last played, I felt disappointed I only had 124,000. Like. That's crazy. And even if you don't make trading, collecting, and farming your whole experience, Royale High is now so removed from roleplaying that it is irreparably not the same anymore. I joined a server recently, just out of curiosity to see if I could do some storytelling like when I was younger and ALL that was in the servers were friends voice chatting. Which is fine, it's not like they're not allowed to anymore. But it just feels so awkward when you have people cursing fifteen feet away from you, or discussing recent trades in chat, all while attempting to do even the blandest of roleplays, such as describing what you're doing. Not just that, I've been made fun of for trying to roleplay by some. On Royale High....a ROLEPLAY game. Thus, the death of creativity.

i used to love royale high, in 2020/21 i was enjoying it so much, roleplaying while also getting a bunch of new items in trading and making my outfit look pretty. at least at that point, values weren't as crazy as they are now. you could still afford to get items. there was also diamond beach, i loved that and there was a bunch of quests. the music note quest i gave up after a few tries cos it was SO HARD to find these music notes (i still havent finished it 3 years later) and diamond beach still isn't finished. its been 3 years. crazy. and i was so hyped up for the new school, when it released in 2023 i joined IMMEDIATELY and was freaking out about it only to find out its not even finished. i waited 3 years for.. that? and i still played while new maps were releasing in campus 3, watching a bunch of livestreams. the one thing that really annoyed me though was that when the maps did release, you had to be level 500+ to access them and look around. i was level 300 something (now im level 700) but when i could look at the maps, specifically the locker courtyard, i figured out that quests existed and tried doing them except i always got confused on HOW. they should really give a tutorial for these things. and when dorms came out, i was also super excited since i love bedrooms and stuff in games and decorating. however i didn't know that you had to pay for a literal bed and stuff, thats why im lucky i saved up 600k for campus 3 before it released (yes thats how excited i was) and then i wasted it all on a dorm in like 10 minutes. and then it turns out when i try decorating my dorm again, even now, i realise the items i bought were really not that good. the prices are ridiculous. i also started collecting skirts since they were my favourite dress-up item, but when the toy sets released, i knew i had no chance at getting all the skirts in royale high. right now, i only have most in game and seasonal skirts, and just 2 toy skirts. imo, campus 3 ruined the game, as well as inflation. and now they're working on a campus 4?? before the map released i thought "oh this is gonna be good, its all gonna be in one map and its one school" but NOOO they had to put everything in separate buildings, which by the way is NOTHING like campus 2 where everything is in one building. and theres still no proper classes or schedule yet. atp barbie needs to sell the game. im never gonna quit royale high cos 1. i spent too much money on it 2. ive made so many memories in it, and i cant move on. i just still have hope that the game can somehow revive itself but i dont think theres any chance for that now.

i remember discovering this game back in 2017 when i was like 10-11, instantly fell in love because of how simple and straightforward it was for a child like me to understand, it also helped me strengthen my english skills (because of role plays) and since i was in a non english speaking country. I remember playing for HOURS a day with people i didn’t even know but we all came together and made fun stories about living in a magical fairy castle school heck i still remember the name of the character i used to play and her details :,) i even met some of my online friends on rh (that i still talk to till this day!) i just loved dressing up too especially after sunset islands release i kid you not i’d spend HOURS on that server with my friends. i truly miss those days and it pains me to see how rh is just constantly getting worse, i definitely agree that barbie is at fault here but i think what chained this was also trading, it was fun at first but then scammers, overpricing, item values etc just ruined everything :( then the false promises by the devs, lack of communication with the community, the INSANE pricing. It’s just so sad to see considering all of this could’ve definitely been prevented. Anyways we can only dwell on our memories now since it’s pretty obvious royale high is a lost cause and new games have definitely replaced it :,( it was fun while it lasted

When I had no social media and was laying this with my freinds regularly when campus 3 came out, one day one of them was refusing to play because of the toxicness etc didn’t know what they were talking about and was kind of sad tbh, I had no idea what was going on, I can’t imagine how horrible it is for confused 8 year olds just wanting to play chapter 3 and its laggy and not even out yet.

although i didn't roleplay that much on royale high (my anxiety can't handle it, so i just did it in my head), i really enjoyed sunset island and dressing up. But for a while there wasn't any new themes, so it was just soooo repetitive and then no new items were released???? I've had the same main outfit since last year. I've moved on to a different fashion game (SuitU on app store) which is so much easier to get gems and is very easy to be a new player (from experience). I'm just upset most new outfits on royale high have to be bought with real money.

I hopped on Roblox a few weeks ago to check out DTI (which is super fun!) and saw Royal High. I’m an og player so I wanted to see how it’d changed since I haven’t played in like 4-5ish years and it used to be one of my fav Roblox games. As soon as I loaded in I was immediately super overwhelmed and confused. The filters and effects and far to many poorly organized options and everything, it’s all way too much. It took me forever to figure out how to do anything and I could only find one “class” mini game that was just musical chairs, it was super disappointing. I gave up after about a half hour, there was just too much visually and not enough substance, at least that I could find. I’m sad to see what’s happened to it

omg this video was so agreeable,,, i played rh a lot in 2020 and 2021 cus i was terribly bored (mind you i got scammed quite a bit on adopt me so i wanted a little roleplaying time in rh) and spent so much time farming it was insane. rh was definitely my biggest occupying game (? idk if that makes sense) that i played on it sm for lots of items and even a halo (one that people called cheap and a lower class halo even though it’s cost was like 800k to 1mil ??? idek the prices r insane; it took me less time to get a frost dragon in adopt me than to get that freakin halo) i developed so many headaches due to prolonged screen time- i think i played almost 20 hours straight once and i was 13; i made lots of friends when roleplaying but also got harassed a lot (that’s a side point but im adding it cus the harassment was mostly based on items, i.e. people begging to trade me items and following me into other roblox games; just goes to show how people cared sm abt items and less abt roleplaying) (I haven’t played the game consistently for 3, almost 4 years, and it rlly is hard to catch up when ur away,,, they also removed a set and idek what it was but i got like 40k when i checked like a week ago and i cant even buy the new skirt bruh) anyways you made so many good points i was washing the dishes and listening and probably said ‘real’ to myself like 10 or more times; you’re very entertaining !!! more vids like this would be so cool !

this is so real. i used to do my own thing in royal high and do what i would describe as like a one-person roleplay (where i just tell a story with myself) but i haven’t done it in a while because the new campus isn’t ready and i haven’t wanted to play an older campus. i’m also a college student and i don’t have time to always play roblox, so whenever i do have time i don’t wanna spend that time doing something boring like farming. the game overall has just started to become less and less fun to me.

I Started Playing RH back in early 2020 and I played It religiously till I wanna say Summer 2022 because They took away almost all the Updates in 2022. That Year was the Last New Years Update, It was the last Good Valentines Update, It was the last new Easter Update, They didn’t have a Summer update, Halloween was Reused and I don’t think we even got a new Advent Calendar for Christmas. And then they didn’t even give us a Badge for New years when They could have re-used New years from 2022 but with a 2023 hat and Badge.

I used to love doing cringey roleplays with other kids in Royale High and it was sooo fun. During lockdown, I played daily and also noticed fewer people were roleplaying; most were more into trading. Even then, many players still chatted with me and i made friends and good memories. archery was also kinda fun lol At some point, people only talked to me to ask if I was trading an item. It got so annoying that I stopped wearing any items and just ran around as my default avatar. I completely quit around the time the new school update came out, but I recently went back for nostalgia and it was so boring. The server was always quiet, no one talked, and there was nothing to do except farm. I went to art class, and some player was literally yelling at everyone to just write the answer so she could farm EXP. Also theres like too much places and i literally do not know where to go all the time😭😭😭

I had a best friend who i would play this game with all the time and we would have so much fun together until, one day, he just stopped talking to me all of a sudden and then was rude when i tried to reach out. He and i would make characters in this game because the creator was that good to us. I didnt do anything to make him stop talking to me but, once that happened, i cant even play this anymore just to play it, it just makes me sad.

I used to play Royal High, I played when it first came out and I love design games so I was super invested. Everything started getting super expensive and I won’t lie I used to use an auto clickers while I was sleeping during the Halloween event at the apple bobbing to get a ton of money (it was super effective for getting diamonds) but with how expensive it got I could wake up and go to school and come home and only have enough for half a set. The other reason I haven’t really been playing was when the campus 3 came out. 3 years of being told “it’s almost done!“ just for it to come and and be unfinished. And not just unfinished but there was barely ANYTHING, in the new school. I stopped playing after that release. I just found out from this video they got rid of the Halloween world, so even more reason to never play it again. I get I cheated but the prices for their sets and items, and PASSES? Are criminal.

I am not at all a veteran but I have been around since Campus 2 was still getting some updates I believe, this was before I even knew Campus 3 or even Campus 1 was even a concept! All I knew is that Royale High was a perfect place to roleplay! I was pleasantly surprised when you brought up Masculine Players and how little options we have, because well I am one of them. I am a non-binary person who is more masculine presenting and plays as a dude all the time on Roblox and I noticed that Feminine Players have SO MUCH OPTIONS since the beginning. I used to play with a friend who is a girl and we would play the game constantly together, when it was time for the big ball! You know the ball that would take place after every school day and happens in the evening, I would be already done picking out a okay tux and she would be taking a little longer and would have this amazing gown and hair and such! What I’m saying is comparing how the girls and guys look in that game is like comparing gold to a painted yellow rock, it’s night and day which gets the better items or not, tbh I wasn’t really mad, I found it as a challenge to make my character look cool with little currency and resource I had but as you said ITEMS WERE DOWNRIGHT EXPENSIVE. I was not active with the whole Diamond Economy, I only spent my Diamonds on the cool sounding food most of the time lol but when I did want fairy wings DAMN MAN THEY WERE ALOT, I did end up getting a pair but when I was tryna get a mermaid tail I believe it was TWICE the amount of the wings or weren’t even there I’m unsure it’s been so long. I have a lot of fond memories of Royale High, I liked going on there just to witness the roleplays in chat and how fun and dramatic they were, I would be in the corner drinking my mermaid frappuccino as people were calling each other out! Causing drama! ROLEPLAY! I am a lurker, I like to roleplay but I get nervous so I tend to just watch the action like it’s reality tv and man was it entertaining back then, but now flash to me who hasn’t been on the game for ages wanting to visit and see how it is nowadays and it changed from what I knew, it was a slow change but it became known that I haven’t seen a genuine roleplay on there for SO LONG and when I visited Campus 3 I lagged out so bad I crashed at least three times until just giving up, it changed into something I barely recognized. Even on the other campuses I barely see anyone roleplay and it makes me sad because the aesthetics of the game give off “girly pop proud to be cringe” vibes but now it’s very…boring. I missed baking cupcakes and playing my music while doing it, I missed ordering from the cafe and seeing people be all mean girls on someone I missed the balls and where I would see drama unfold, it changed into a culture of grinding and farming something I am not too interested in. I don’t go on Roblox as much but when I do feel like chilling somewhere I go to Fantasia, it’s this very nice chill vibe but even then Roleplay culture on Roblox has shifted a bit, Fantasia takes its roleplays very seriously which I applaud but it also means that I can’t lurk around and witness the story unfold I have to participate which makes me very nervous (yes I know social anxiety on Roblox omg) and the main servers are riddled with people who mock the idea of roleplay. It sucks but change happens, I still appreciate Fantasia and I like going on there once and awhile as it has more options at least to me for masculine players, like I have a full on cape and mask something that Royale High would never give freely to any player unless paywalled with a billion Diamonds or something. I miss the girly pop fantasy aesthetic of Royale High but I enjoy the calm and “sophisticated” nature of Fantasia and how seriously it takes its roleplay and I love just chilling on that beautiful map it’s amazing. I could go on and on about my experiences of being a Masc player on Royale High and Fantasia and how the Resort on Royale High was top tier and how I liked chilling in my apartment there or so on and so forth but I’ll be typing for hours. Royale High was always kinda hard to play as I tended to crash a lot but nowadays even visiting the game isn’t even worth it anymore, my nostalgia glasses are off when I say that yeah the game isn’t the best and I just prefer chill to in the basement vibe room on roblox now lol.

I've seen a huge issue with this in Creatures of Sonaria as well. I've been playing for about 4 years now and it was truly a magical game back then. Trading wasn't as chaotic or hostile as it was back then, nor was the play style. The devs have given the players too much to fight about and don't give QoL updates as much as they should.

royale high was a game i loved to play with friends when i was younger to just role play and have fun, when the update happened i think i tried to play it once and never again. it was way too confusing and just seemed like too much. i think a lot of the people who grew up on that game have moved to dress to impress or other role play games because they’re simple and straightforward while also being fun and engaging. it does feel a bit sad though, the game just isn’t what it used to be.
