Speaking of James...he just released a funko pop of himself. I felt strange seeing it seeing how much he's changed since I first found him thanks to his older deleted videos. And let me give my two cents about James deleting some older videos: Since James is already a much more public figure, he needs to keep his image clean so that he and his team can keep evergreen opportunities such as sponsorships and project collaborations from being a regular thing rather than have these entities see James as a controversial figure that's a risk to invest in. I'm saying this since I am acquainted with those who want to attract bigger brands to help sponsor a creative collective and the higher members say that staying family friendly and clean will increase the chances of great collaborations to appear for the group.

The thing about story time videos is that a lot of people run out of story times. Not everyone can have a constantly interesting life. These channels stop uploading story times since the way have nothing left to tell. That’s what I noticed with Jaiden, she transitioned to gaming content and hasn’t uploaded any story time videos in years. Which makes sense, she’s told all the stories she’s comfortable with and she’s now an extremely rich person, she doesn’t actually even have to do anything interesting in her life anymore. She could just play games, hang out with her close friends and that’s it. That’s why so many channels are so volatile, a lot of peoples lives are boring, a couple of crazy things might happen to you, and some interesting other things might happen too, but most people live “boring” lives, they aren’t always finding a date, or doing something fun.

Though i get that, it does need to be said that alot of his ex new ground buddies came out to call him out that alot of what he said was bs and everyone and tom(creator of newgrounds) actually gaved a shit about him till he decided to throw them under the bus
@mistertagomago79746 ай бұрын
@@noomloom535 Thing is none of know what happened behind the scenes. Arin wasnt like specific about anything and its not like that was his first time saying that stuff. So its possible both parties are telling the truth from their point of view. I also dont remember Tom getting involved. I just know even before this hes talked about his bad experiences during Newgrounds. Im an Oney fan tbc I just think people are too quick to shit on Arin.

Great video. Back when I was in middle school and we were in the Golden Age of story time animation. I used to be obsessed with these channels and had always wanted to be like them. Even learned some animation to try and do story time. But the community did quickly die for reasons I didn’t understand at the time. This provided some insight and closure and was an amazing retrospective overall.

I stopped watching James a while ago and it was for two main reasons. The first being is inconsistent upload schedule (which this one is understandable considering the production value is much higher than his past videos) and second being he just kind of feels corporate safe now. Back then even though James still had a script it still felt like he wasn't talking from pre-written lines but from his own mind. Now it feels like the stuff he talks about too the jokes that he makes all feel deliberately placed and pre-established and it just comes off as inauthentic for me personally. Don't get me wrong though I'm not trying to say that I hate him or I despise him... more so I'm just saying it feels like he cares more about being appealing than authentic

I started watching storytime animators like JaidenAnimations and TheOdd1sOut in the summer of 2019, and honestly, they helped inspire me to pursue a goal of owning an animation studio and making videos like them. I'm still an inexperienced artist and animator, but I am working on a channel introduction and will post storytime animations in the future. Even if the storytime animation genre is past its prime, those videos look fun to make, so I will just make them as a fun little thing to do. If they get successful, that'll be awesome. If they don't, that's ok. I also plan on making lots of different types of videos on my channel, both animated and non-animated, because I have a lot of interests and it might ensure longevity. I like that you put YoonToons as an example of a popular storytime animator in this day and age. I really like her videos.

It's not surprising that we don't get to see STAs being as big as they were once, almost nostalgic to how often they would be seen on the platform. Many kids during the golden era of STAs, such as myself, made KZbin channels in the first place so that we could meet the popularity and success of OddOnesOut and JaidenAnimation. It was fun trying to do so and a slight feeling of cringe when looking back, but they surely were the days.

I always wanted to be a storytime animator, to draw characters, write scripts, make humor, share my stories and opinions. But as I grow older and started to see the more negative and sensitive stuff on social media, especially with this genre now, and how many new storytime animators aren't getting the same kind of attention as the animators of old. Despite these problems with the community and storytime animators these days, I still wanna try making such videos for the fun and entertainment just like the good old days. What do you guys think? "Jaiden was trying to manipulate me to feel sad!!!" Yeah no fucking shit, skippy. It's a sad story about a sad topic, being told in a sad way. Obviously it's intended to make the viewer feel sad! Trying to invoke certain emotions in the audience isn't being "manipulative", it's just a common trope of storytelling. What, are you gonna complain that a restaurant "manipulated" you into liking their food because they use a lot of butter?
