I've met a lot of farmers who are quite experienced but are too focused on doing things the way they were taught my their mentors rather than focusing on what is proven to work. Don't get me wrong, your mentors certainly have good reasons for why they did things the way they did them, but that doesn't make them correct, especially not for a changing world. I appreciate seeing a large scale farmer who really really uses actual evidence based care. You certainly learned a hell of a lot from your parents but it's obvious you and your parents have been following the latest research and adapting your care as needed.. within the context of your farm. Absolutely excellent, and I swear every video I respect you and your family even more. You are an inspiration.

You actually care about your sheep, I love that. I know about sheep who are out in an enclosure all day with no shade at all and the weather tends to get extremely hot (a sheep lost its wool because of the heat and it’s skin is kind of burnt on its back, lots of flies on the skin, it hurts see that). Lots of lambs died in winter because they weren’t drinking and weren’t put in a warm place, or whatever. Who am I to judge, I’m not a shepherd. I’m just sorry for them even though they’re just destined to be meat. And the farmer has other things to do, certainly. Love your videos, you show you care for them and do everything you can in order for them to be safe.

The good news, the bad news and the annoying news with Tara ❤ I’ve been over in Western Australia (Albany, Denmark, Margret River, Perth). We drove past a lot of farms and saw a lot lambs and mums. No turtles thankfully. We went to a few wineries and they had lambs. It was a bit cute. Until a storm rolled through and a pup called Soot chewed through his collar and must have run 2 or 3 kms to seek shelter at the winery. He had the same markings as Typo. His owners came and got him. They were a bit embarrassed Soot was quite happy chilling at the winery.
