Eliminating the space between the right elbow, tucking it in with the clubface pointing toward the ground is brillant. The throwing drill, brillant! Using evidence-based material from tour players to reference and reinforce the istruction is World Class expert level instruction at its best. I luv your channel Coach Hanson. Thank you for making us all a little better.

That wall move...with both hands 90° across the body, moving the hands DOWN THE WALL and not turning away from the wall to initiate the left hip turning and moving downward and toward the target is GENIUS! And the ball throw lesson, just so good. Thank you.

If I told you how hard I’ve worked on my swing and how many balls I’ve hit you probably wouldn’t believe me. For me it really goes to show what’s possible. The last 3 years I’ve consistently worked on the same moves and haven’t wavered. • Hours and hours of beating on your craft. • Chipping away at your swing • A consistent path a clear goal I’ve had 2 hip replacements. I nearly gave up. My swing was ruined I could t even go for a social game of golf. Never give up! - Resilience! - 💪

Craig you are hands down the best golf instructor on KZbin. Sure, there are a lot of instructors who give us helpful tips, but nobody comes close to you in showing us the big picture. A 'helpful tip" without the big picture isn't that helpful at all and you can become micro-focused on just that one "helpful tip". I just turned 60 and because of your instruction (along with high quality fish oil, turmeric, glucosamine, etc. : -) I'm enjoying the game more than I have in decades. The Best golf, detailed training movie in KZbin! Thanks a lot, I had feeling that one of the 20-30 shot was with loose and Perfect, but I can't find the differenr, so I can't repeat it and make it my standard golf swing. it's occured mainly when I was really flex (when I shot 100 balls o irons, than go to chipping and go to long irons with full swing again). After viewing of Your movie I have tested my swing again, with all tips mentioned in this movie (elbow, wrist etc) and now I have found it - it was releasing the wrist at the backswinh position and keep bend left wrist naturally through the swing (I am left handed) wow Such a feeling of power and accuracy! I had few lessons wir maybe 3-4 trainers and nobody said anything about it, just place me some distance Ball to not hit slice... But I thing its too late, at impact I was just compensating all mistakes from backswing, so I loose power and it was not repeatable... Thanks a lot Sir! You change my golf swing forever!

What do you think to the precision impact golf training aid to keep your right wrist position in the down swing also may help keeping your right elbow to the right side
@CraigHansonGolf2 жыл бұрын
I use it for short shots with people under 50 metres It’s great to develop that type of action in short shots. People with all sorts of short game issues. The full swing the lead wrist has o move into extension after impact so it makes it difficult to release the club freely and fully. Apparently they are looking at a new one for that. The owner is a great guy.

The easiest to understand analogous movement is tossing a rock across a pond sidearm. It has the same double-lever action in the trail arm, side bending backwards of the spine and lateral shift of the hips forward to counter the movement of the upper body. Ask someone to toss a ball that way and their primitive intuitive brains figure out how to move the body ideally to meet the dual goals of tossing the ball and moving body mass to stay in balance. But add another lever with a mass at the end of it to the trail hand and the lead arm to bear the load and guide it and the human brain can’t seem to swing it as intuitively for some reason. What I realized after years of struggling to trigger the downswing with movement of lead knee and lateral shift as suggested by Nicklaus was that if I instead initiated the downswing by side bending the spine my hips shifted laterally reflexively triggering the release of the coiled hips. The side bending of the spine doesn’t move the hands straight down as in the wall drill but in a circle matching the radius of the side bend down and towards target. Once aware of this cause and effect I realized could consciously change the direction of the club head at will, loading the shaft with bend, then firing the hips - loaded as Hogan did - in partial swings. When I considered what action was needed to keep bend in the shaft all the way to impact I realized it requires the hands to keep pulling down and forward against the inertia of the club head. Reversing the club head mass direction with side bend while the shoulder turn of the backswing is moving it up and forward creates much more inertial resistance than the shoulders meeting resistance does. Progressively increasing the amount of spine side bend during the downswing keeps the hands pulling forcefully against that inertial resistance making it possible and much easier to maintain shaft bend deep into the downswing-why you see a lot of side bending of the spine at impact in photos of powerful ball strikers.

I found I cannot think too much about the wrist. It's a distraction to me. Just lower your right shoulder,and make sure trail arm is always lower than the lead arm before impact. I personally cannot handle more than that. The swing needs to "flow" and thinking too much does not help a lot.

My father-in-law learned the "hip bump" from the Pro at Bradenton C.C., and showed to me in 1974. Why is it called a downswing when there is no upswing? If there is a backswing, there should be a forward swing.
