It's all people who cant get attention in real life in realoty nobody calls anyone an npc. There's a internet culture that's trying to remind everyone of their place but the internet isn't real to a major extent. Can you find great creators? Yes. Should anyone be terminally online? No. And teenagers that don't have much money to spend becuase they have poor parents and people who wouldn't have a job in real life have a bunch of npc followers and thats leads to noc content creators. Those following aren't necessarily popular that's how many people dont have a career or can't get a career and there's money in entertaining people. Women make more popular AI's getting ready for angry redpill podcast npcs. Becuase guess what? Internet culture is real becuase of the money or followers but nobody translates internet culture to real life its a part of escapism for people who have nothing better to do.

@@kareemteniola3634 npc means "non playable character" and it came from video games for characters that are in the background/side characters. they are not as well coded and it can be funny to watch them glitch or be frozen in place or stuff like that. and they have very repetitive movements and thats what ppl are imitating, like the idea that you have a script you have to follow and limited movement. on one hand its kinda stupid and funny and i think ppl should do whatever they want as long as its not hurting anyone. but i really cant shake the feeling that this trend is really demoralizing and dehumanizing.. it just feels gross, not even cringey, but like these ppl are giving away their personhood to make money and that genuinely scares me

I didn't know what it stood for. That's so interesting because here we have non-playable characters that we can't control in a game but now we're able to "control" them in a live. WEIRD.
@PileofAshes53
@PileofAshes53 8 ай бұрын
You’re not really “controlling”them. They are responding to stimuli (money) in a predictable, set way. In a game, when you are interacting with NPCs they do the same thing. Let me give you an example. In a game where an NPC is a cat for example. Everyone who pets the cat(stimuli), hears the cat purr, if they kick the cat, the cat screms out “Meawwww!!” and if they give cat a treat, the cat performs a little trick of standing up on hind legs. Outside of those three options, the cat doesn’t really do anything else. Same thing with these people. You press one button with donation they go “beep!” Another button with donation, they go “boop!” After the live, they go about their day like normal. You’re not really controlling them for more than a few seconds while they’re live by injecting them with stimuli(money) to perform for you. To actually control someone, you have to get into their mind and take over. But that’s not what this is. You’re not in their mind. They perform the same for everyone in the same words and sounds. Just think of them as Furbys. Are you actually in control of a Furby, or is their internal software making them respond in predictable way to actions you are performing on them? You can’t control something that is mentally detached from you and furbys don’t even think so they can’t even be mentally attached to you.

You're definitely right! TikTok is NOTHING like it used to be back a few years ago when it first gained popularity. Let me get something straight. A kid shouldn’t spend hours a day on internet. I’ve seen with my own eyes franchises (games, movies, tv series etc) getting ruined because they try to market them so much to young people that they’re lackluster, vanilla, nowhere close to what they used to be. Same goes with the extreme censorship that’s been going on the past few years including KZbin. The way you describe this trend tho is really twist and disturbing if you think about it but since the creators don’t show “something” it’s considered ok. I can’t believe how someone thinks that pretending to be 15 to casually fish for fetisch money is ok just because you’re adult. As with everything that’s trendy, they try so hard to capitalize that they forget the initial purpose and demographic. I don’t know how someone would pay to see a human acting like an NPC. I mean could be part of a funny gig but dude… so much money?

I really hope the..U.S government and the UN bans the toxic drug “TikTok” it has been gone out of control and the boundaries has been crossed. TikTok is destroying our civilization and society due to dumbfuck influencers promoting unproductive and useless trends. It is corrupting Gen Z’s mind because of the over saturation and dopamine rush that these young people and young kids are getting it. TikTok is a somatic force and phenomenon when it comes to dragging the American masses. Americans are so fucking clueless and ignorant fat@sses. It is promoting woke ideology and causing a social disconnect between reality and digital reality. Nowadays the blurs are barely noticed. FUCK OFF TIKTOK, go fuck yourself “ByteDance LLC.”

Yes please to a part two. I've never had TicTok, I know it's grown since it's inception (kids lip syncing) but I'm a KZbin girly. I feel there's a more personal connection to the creators and I prefer long term content, especially for reviews, as nearly everything on TicTok is "Amazing, ground breaking, "viral"( yet just released) When in reality, they're undisclosed Ads. I'll stay over here on KZbin, I already waste enough on Amazon prime lol (I do enjoy the movies on there, so congrats on the sponsor!) That's another thing, I'm happy to see content creators get sponsorships (and I can always skip them if I don't wish to watch) So, I don't understand why TicTok creators lie about sponsorships. I guess it's because every video is a sponsored one as TicTok pays so little, so they over hype the product and can't give an honest review as they won't get paid. I get it, but I don't want to be sold to constantly, whether it's via TicTok shop or disingenuous reviews.

Y’all, WF coffee is NOT GOOD. Please don’t listen to TT…it’s really bad. We got the drink recipe months ago & I made us one to try, and it was deeply disappointing. Ugh the way people are willing to spend money because someone on TT endorsed something…insane.

I am wanting to start up my business, everyone constantly says I need to do Tik Tok. I just refuse. And I'm glad I haven't signed up with the app. As time goes on its showing that it isn't a place for people to actually sell but only promote. That's super unfortunate that people are going through this :/ people work so hard and put so much of themselves into their products and to have their work torn apart by bigger brands, customers and other influencers just sounds so frustrating. Needless to say, Tik Tok wont be an app for me anytime soon.

npc means non playable character. you can interact with them sometimes, monitor them, but you can never play them. this is important because npc have no soul and their purpose revolves around the player (you) or adding realism to the setting like extras in a movie. this trend it is all about objectifying humans for pleasure

I think apps start by luring people with the idea of organic content, everyone can post anything and be rewarded and when they have a large hooked base they change it to a shop. All apps went the same route and even google is just commercial content. I'm not even talking about "sponsored" pages, I'm talking about the first pages of results are all commercially driven. For bloggers, if you're not a big brand or a very old established blogger, you barely or hardly show up in the results. Even unrelated quotes from google books show up instead of relevant blogs. Lists, lists, lists and top x, top y, top z. Sell sell sell. Products and services. Everything "free" is a sample of a "buy our service", "try our service for x days", "no more credits, upgrade" ...

I am just blown away and never connected these dots!!!!! Wow this video was an excellent analysis. I watched a video with adults (mostly in their 20s) who were used as child content creators by their families for family based KZbin channels and all of the women talked about not only how their mental health and self esteem suffered because their parents (mostly their moms) forced cameras on them all the time but they also shared that they ended up being stalked and harassed by men (when they were still children) who knew their names and personal business because they subscribed to and watched those family channels. I never realized how risky it is for kids to be on those channels nor how many pedophiles watch them. We live in a sick world.

Very solid vid. An even crazy part is the fact that Tik Tok is owned by ByteDance, which is based in China, who has the incentive to do harm to the US. If Tik Tok shop harms small american business owners, that's lost opportunity. Plus the subtle degeneracy that's connected to the npc culture.

Tik tok zombiefies everyone who comes into contact with it. Tik tok was all fun & games for a while, but I realized I changed so much because of tik tok. I know I make my own decisions & an app doesn't have the power to change me. With that, as a 23 year old well into young adulthood now, tik tok has been able to influence my thoughts, behaviors, & actions with how programed the algorithm is. I don't know what exactly it is about tik tok because we have had social media for a while now (a little over a decade), and yet, tik tok seems to be behind most of the issues going on
