No other video on KZbin comes close clearly explaining the class rotations as you do. Without these videos, I would be completely lost.

a very nice guide. as a new player, it's often very hard to look at class guides because there are always words and abbreviations thrown in that are totally confusing. sometimes you get the feeling that they've forgotten that there are new players too. some youtubers are in towns and want to explain rotations between 3 other players who are all hitting the dummy at the same time. it's even hard for established gamers to keep up with the flood of information you are very easy to follow, you explain things simply enough for new players and the view is kept clear. keep it up!

Insights/Creative Process regarding Ray of Frost: When I look at RoF and GS, I think of them as layers of progressive complexity. To explain this, I will use an analogy of a traffic light. In the area I live in, a traffic light consists of 3 lights. A red one at the top, a yellow one in the middle, and a green one at the bottom. So which is the most complicated light? Weird question, right? But let's create a universe where only traffic lights exist, and you must obey the laws they represent. What is the natural state of the traffic light? What is the least complicated thing? We could choose stop (red) or go (green) as each require one action to complete, and the other would be a negation of it. Let's go with the natural state as 'go', and the next progressive complexity would be 'not go'. Of the options, 'not go' could be stop or yellow (yield). At this point we just know it's 'not go'. And keep in mind we are negating it, not using it's opposite. But why didn't we pick yield as the natural state? Because yield is the most complicated, where there is choice you must make. You must already know what is 'go' and what is 'stop'. Then make a choice from there. So in our created universe, the complexity scale goes from 'go', to 'stop', to finally 'yield'. What the heck does any of this mean? RoF in it's ST form is 'go'. It is the natural state chosen. RoF in it's AoE form is 'stop'. And GS is 'yield' as it can be either ST or AoE, again the choice must be made. This is what I mean by progressive complexity. Where your brain has to add little complexities to go from 'go' to 'yield'. GO - "1" STOP - "NOT 1" YIELD - "1 OR NOT 1" There are several other reasons why it's not a 'complexity leap' to go from a RoF to a GS build. The spells themselves (again in terms of complexity) are very similar. For example: RoF and GS in their natural state, require you to stop moving to cast. And have similar cast/channel times. Experienced mages have tuned themselves to go against their natural state of "go go go" to 'stop', this spell must go off or I lose DPS in a major way. The impact of moving at this time is more severe, than say, accidentally canceling a FB. So, being stationary is a trait shared among the two. RoF and GS have the same talent investment. 2 points for RoF and it's ST enhancing talent. 2 points for RoF and it's AoE enhancing talent. And 1 for Hailstones that enhances the 1 for GS. RoF in both forms when compared to GS can be used in ST and AoE. And finally there is a resource exchange, from Hailstones giving iciles to GS, to RoF giving FoF. So, if GS is the 'yield' or most complicated thing in this universe, what would be the most complicated thing in a universe where it is an option to have both GS and RoF AoE? Having both of course! That would create the most complex universe, until we introduced another, more complicated thing to our little made up universe. This is what I mean when I say "nuance" or "deeper relationships" in specs. Following this formula of investigating complexities will usually lead you to the meta, assuming the complexities are available in the universe given and the laws do not forbid their use. My mission in the video was to start with the least complex thing (RoF in ST), and present that first (Chapter One), then move on to the next most complicated thing (RoF in AoE) in Chapter 2, then finally build a bridge to what will ultimately be the meta. But meta's are not always just "what's most complicated", but by reverse engineering the meta, you will usually be left with something similar to what was described above. Wherein the highest skill cap spec permutation (complexity) yields the highest dps. So if I had to sum it up, I'm trying to teaching you how to identify 'go', and other meta guides are teaching you remember the colors of the lights as if they were a sequence of set events and not a sequence of complexity progressions. Meta guides are ideal for those that learn that way, as humans are experts at identifying sequences and symmetry, but everyone learns a bit differently.

@@ArcaneBrillianceMagemanda the biggest questing in about the aoe rotation, once you start whit to rotation you get a lot of fingers of frost and brain freeze procs .. do you use the finger of frost procs on lance and the brain freeze when they proc? of do you stick to the rotation and do you use them after the rotation? @svanhoye1 Yeah, I get what your saying. The video shows the simplest process for aoe. Personally, I dump the bf and fof after I do fb x4 for DC. Then use coc, closer, then reassess priorities. Apologies if you didn't understand all that, but I assume you watched the video. 😀

Preset response to Hero Talents: Hero talents were purposely excluded from this guide. The information gained by reviewing hero talents would have a minimal impact on the viewers experience as a Spellslinger. As they point out the hero tree, they will notice a steady increase of speed in their rotation due to how the talent tree is inherently configured. The order they put points into the talent tree also has a minimal impact on their learning experience. I feel the addition of going over hero talents would distract from the main lesson of teaching the basics. I meticulously chose what to include in the experience, and what to trim out. And hero talents just didn't make the cut.

What the absolute fuck am I watching? xD j/k stole that from your comments video. Not a bad guide, I am not sure if taking ray of frost in any situation will be a thing in S1 due to deaths chill and glacial spike. Also, its worth noting that spell slinger is generally good for single target rotations and frost fire is really good for AOE rotations and you can use either/or for different talent set ups.
