I am a big fan over 30 years. Ronnie was so drunk at this gig. He sang very slowly🙈Especially „Donnegal Danny“!

Yeah!! But he didn't miss any note singing or missplay the guitar. Drunk but connect in the show, a lil bit slow, still great as the resto of the boys as well.

From looking at the dates of this performance and the when Ciaráns health started to decline. It’s likely this performance was a matter of hours after Ciarán had to leave the band and fly home to Ireland. The lacklustre of the boys and the clear overindulgence in porter beforehand now seems well earned.

What a difficult venue with everyone so well dressed sat in white table clothed rows the audience looked as though beethoven might have been expected,however the lads were as usual good for the money
@moos52213 жыл бұрын
Wow, I'm pretty sure they could only perform drunk in front of such a terrible audience. The audience is well in sync with the german narrator. Maybe they had opera tickets and went into the wrong building? Edit: Wow, absolutely amazing production, cutting out in the middle of "Black Velvet Band". Incredible. But Luke Kelly saying "I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did." made my day. xD

It could be that caused by this expected „fantastic“ audience, Ronnie thought the only way to „survive“ this evening is to drink some beers in advance.

I have just learned that the guys continued to pay Ciaran as though he were still performing for the rest of his life.
@ramon728910 ай бұрын
@accurate. I red that John Sheahan paid him till his dead in 1988. After Ronnie left Jim McCann came to join. When Ronnie came back Jim left, so still four of them. Somewhere beginning of the 80s Sean Cannon joined to fall in for Luke Kelly. After Ciarán (without Luke Kelly) Eamon Campell joined and they were again with five in the group untill 1988
