Today, The Royal Foundation hosted an online event: 'What the UK thinks about the Early Years: A Forum to Launch The Royal Foundation's Landmark Study on the Early Years', during which The Duchess of Cambridge delivered a Keynote Address.
During the speech, Her Royal Highness spoke of her ambition to put the Early Years on an equal footing with the other great social challenges and opportunities of our time.
The speech comes as The Duchess unveiled the findings of the biggest ever UK study on the early years, in a milestone moment for her work on the importance of early childhood in shaping the rest of our lives and broader societal outcomes. The research, commissioned by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and conducted by Ipsos MORI, reveals what the UK thinks about the early years. It includes the findings of the #5BigQuestions survey which attracted over half a million responses earlier this year, making it the biggest ever survey of its kind.
She said: "We must do all we can to tackle these issues and to elevate the importance of the early years, so that together we can build a more nurturing society. Because I believe, the early years should be on par with the other great social challenges and opportunities of our time. And next year, we will announce ambitious plans to support this objective.”

Catherine has grown in her public speaking and overall confidence. More importantly, the way she goes about discussing important issues like mental health and early childhood development don't come across as preachy or judgmental. IMO, she genuinely wants to help others succeed and thrive. Kudos to all who have assisted n the research and advocate for improving outcomes for this generation and future generations.

Christina Bonvillian I don’t recall the Duchess of Cambridge saying that she did, she has worked with many leading academics and organisations, she has listened to them asked questions and unlike your love idol, was happy to leave the preaching and ‘influencing’ alone. Where in her speech was she telling anyone to vote, to stop being racists? You are trying to scratch around for something nasty to stay, gladly you have failed.

Kate's speech was wonderful and she really is a beautiful woman. However, she really needs to stop using the Botox and Fillers in her face. In this video you can see her left-cheek is not as smooth and defined as the right-cheek. Although, Botox is only injected in small doses. When injected, it blocks signals from your nerves to your muscles causing muscle weakness. A few months ago she had beautiful dimples on both sides, now she appear to have two or three dimples on the left-side, causing her chin to appear uneven. And parting her hair on the right-side of her face, to allow more hair to cover the left-side is not working.🤷‍♀️

Profound words Catherine sometimes I wish that people would think twice about having a child or children. Its a big decision and a commitment for life, so many children are truly suffering from acts of violence or neglect. Children don’t asked to be born, so if you have them sower them with love. And not by giving them expensive gifts you can’t by love it must come from the heart ❤️

@Elizaveta Timchenko it is done in other countries including Australia, the most successful telethon in the world is held annually in October in Perth Western Australia and all the proceeds go straight to the Telethon Trust for research into and financing if early childhood research and programs which benefit all children across the world. In October 2020, during this pandemic and with so many out of work and in a state with a population of just 3.6million people we raised in excess of $46 million. That is a world record and one every West Australian works throughout the year towards because "It's for the children". You can research 'Perth Telethon' and the trust and all the amazing work done and how that work is shared throughout the world's research teams. Catherine's work, like ours, benefits all children, it's lovely to see all the amazing work that IS being done. 🇦🇺💞 www.telethon7.com/beneficiaries/2019-beneficiaries

You set such a wonderful example of what a Woman at Her Best should be..a genuine.intelligent.caring.woman with the dignity, style and class to be an amazing Queen at William's side when that time comes. I especially love the loving way you are raising your children and the pictures you share with us. You and William represent England at it's Best.

I completely agree that focusing on one’s early years, children will grow up to have good foundation, and be more resposible. And it is true that most issues experienced during adulthood have some connections with their early years

“Big change starts small” ooh, she absolutely nailed it. For me, this ‘simple’ statement encompasses so much. This is where the BRF are without equal, they can shine a light on important issues in a way that powerful, relevant and most importantly, non-political. There is not a hint of ego, or rescuing anyone, just complete focus on the subject matter. Excellent stuff. The Duchess of Cambridge has given us a glimpse into what she is about and the sort of Queen Consort she will be. I thank her for taking an interest, I thank her for her inspiring words. 🇬🇧

Kate is the most beautiful Duchess in the Royal family and is going to be a great Queen, we are so lucky Prince William made the right decision when he asked Kate to marry him.

Well done. And very well argued. The early years are indeed about the adults we become and thus the society we make.

Thank you for your initiative on early years. Supporting parents’ mental health and providing guidance on raising emotionally balanced children is my life mission. If you are looking to develop a mental health platform for parents and children, please do contact me. I would be honoured to be in the product management team of this initiative. I hope this message will be a proof of courage, but also of my mission.

What a difference from her first aytempts at public whichh were painful to watch. She is much more composed, confident and clear. Though not entirely relaxed she is doing her job eith grace and obvious sincerity. It's not easy for a naturally shy person like Kate to give a speech whi h will be scrutinised by millions.. Kate reminds me of the Queen in character - also a shy person who had to rise to the challenge of her role and is now a towering and beloved figure. Kate will hopefully continue to grow in self assurance and o e day be an excellent Queen consort. A great example for her is also Queen Rania of Jordan - a country where Kate lived as a child.

Very inspiring... This is so important...the first 5 years are so significant and for those of us with children at that age, and school children, it is quite overwhelming... Shinning light on the importance of the early years will set our children up to be more responsible young adults ...thank you for this work!
