He didn't want to live to 100 years old either, its a pretty much perfect end for him. Lived from 1921 - 2021, without having to turn 100 years old, passing peacefully in his sleep, and getting the private funeral he wanted too.

Whether one chooses to grieve or not, to have lived such a life and to pass away peacefully at 99 is still rather amazing. @@3replybiz Sorry. Incorrect. The Crown Estate is "the sovereign's public estate", which is neither government property nor part of the monarch's private estate. The revenues from these hereditary possessions have been placed by the monarch at the disposition of Her Majesty's Government in exchange for relief from the responsibility to fund the Civil Government since its establishment in 1760. Occupied royal palaces, such as Windsor Castle, are not part of the Crown Estate.

I know right?! She met him when she was 13! I looked at my lovely husband today who I've know since I was 16 and married at 20 and it's been 12 years now, and thought, if we are blessed with 60 more years together I don't know what I'd do when he went. Your whole lifestyle would change and at 95 that must be VERY difficult. Almost like having him that long would harm me even more when he passes on. I'm scared for her majesty. Her heart may literally break. The grief at her age, on top of the extended family stress (Harry and Meghan, PRINCE ANDREW, etc) can obviously be deadly.

I have the greatest respect for Prince Philip. He was a man's man and no whiner. He endured many struggles and trials, both personal and public with grace and humour. He was indeed a part of "the Greatest Generation". It was so wonderful that the Lord allowed him and Queen Elizabeth to be together over the past year. What a beautiful gift. Please pray for Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family. His mother was a beautiful lady.

I really like Princess Anne. She has many of her mother's qualities. I remember watching the Coronation. My father bought the first TV in our neighborhood for the occasion. All our neighbors crowded into our Bronx living room to watch the event.

In more recent years I’ve grown to respect Princess Anne much more than I ever did before. I’ve seen interviews of her and she doesn’t seem to be the stodgy old person everyone makes her out to be. I’ve also heard that she is the hardest working Royal.

Yes my father bought our first TV set in 1952. The neighbours crowded into our living room on the day of the coronation, the following year. During that first few months we had the set, we were only allowed to watch for a short time each day. My dad’s mantra was, ‘we need to save the tube for the coronation!’ If only we had known, that flipping set lasted so long we were about the last family in the neighbourhood to get a colour TV😒
