@@beazdakid1988 The 4 super bowl winners were teams built by George Young and Ernie Accorisi without Mara interference. Of the others, 2 were in the early days of the teams in the league are long gone. Original owner Tim Mara was one in charge of the team for 3 of them. Wellington inherited great teams from his father and ran them into laughing stocks of the entire sports world. John inherited very good teams which Accorisi built and ran them to the ground too. Don't believe me? Look at the rest of the record. I've been following since 1967 and there's no doubt that overall, they've been a losing organization for the last 60 years.

The whole organization has always gone out of its way to treat the fans with respect. My father was one of those fans that wellington wrote back frequently. We got a Christmas card every year. And we both still do. And I never ask but sometimes even more. This was beautiful

I saw Mr. Mara when the Giants practiced at Fairfield University. He was talking to some fans about golf. I was a little girl then, and I didn't know who he was. He was so nice. I couldn't believe he was the owner.

@@BxDaBarber My point is, he was one of the worst owners in sports. He inherited a very good team and did a great job to keep them at the top by trading draft picks and young players. By 1964, most players were old, past their primes or retired. He had no one to take their places and the team never recovered with his guidance. From that point until his nephew, the other 50% owner, forced him from day to day team operations after the '78 season, they were the worst team in the NFL. Most of his drafts were much, much worse than Gettleman's. After "The Fumble", the Giants were the laughingstock of the entire sports world. It took George Young 5 years to get them to be a decent, respectable team again. Ask any fan that lived thru the 20 years of "Lousy Football".

Rozelle did more than suggest Young, he negotiated the agreement between nephew Tim and Wellington to ban Wellington from interfering with the next GM. Young accepted the job after the agreement was made and others that Rozelle suggested turned them down.

Lombardi was never available when the Giants needed a head coach. Jim Lee Howell was the head coach when Lombardi, an unknown assistant, left. At that time, he had just led the Giants to two championship games over the last 3 seasons, winning one and losing the other in OT. You think they should've fired him? Landry moved his family to Texas and was out of football for a year. He was going to work in private business. Losing Belichick was George Young's fault. Please provide proof that old man Tim was a racist.

No, his father Tim was one of the fathers of the NFL and had final say almost up to his death in 1959. His brother Jack assisted him and represented the team at league meetings until 1964. Wellington tried to work with the league, but was known for prolonging a player's strike while his team sank to the bottom of the NFL.
