There's a glitch in NR2003 where if you completely destroy your car in a race, you can quickly enter and exit the replay and sometimes the "return to pit" option comes up and you can get a fresh car. It stops scoring you, but it's a thing.

Wells, I was very sad today(my 2 year old and my 16 day old baby tested positive for Covid19 not to mention my wife has been hospitalized for Covid pneumonia 3 days earlier) and my son was fumbling with the ps4 remote but he was laughing so hard. I looked up from my state of worry and saw this video playing and he was watching. As he was rolling over laughing, it made me smile. Thank you for this. He laughs at the pauses during the glitch.

No, this is very realistic. Drivers like Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, and Chase Elliot all use this glitch in races. That’s how Chase Elliot won the championship (he stole Kevin Harvick’s Pause button at martinsville, so that’s why Elliot won and Harvick was knocked out)

I think it's definitely slowing the field down AND speeding you up. But more so slowing everybody else down. I'm thinking that the game doesn't apply any engine forces the AI cars for 1 tick after you unpause the game and does the same for the player's car, but over-compensates. Perhaps the developers realized during testing that the player's car slows down after unpausing and put a bandaid on it by causing the car to speed up a bit. Note that the player's speed flickers between something slightly slower and slightly faster than the original speed when spamming the pause button. In my opinion, this is a clear sign that the developers just added code to negate the effects of the bug for the player's car only rather than changing the faulty code.
