He has short arms and he's short himself. If you think Nolan Smith is undersized, Devin White is undersized to a whole new degree. Devin also has no bend. And you can't just become an edge rusher, being an edge rusher is a whole craft of its own

What we’re doing to Devin White and Zay is RIDICULOUS. There is no way you go from starters when the depth chart is released to useless. Something is going on. Idk if Howie is pushing for his draft picks to play or what but our defense is no where near consistently good enough to decide the 2 defenders who were the best at their position ALL camp, are now useless smfh.

That depth chart wasn't official. It was done by the media team. Nakobe got many first team reps, and even started the Patriots joint practice. Heard nothing from White all camp, Dean was the best LB on the field in camp.

I believe they are not willing to be versatile. For example I do t think Rodgers wants to play the slot, when the rookie showed that he could do it all summer, and as far as White I don’t think he’s willing to play special team, especially if he not starting! Just my opinion keep in mind Rodgers just had hand surgery.

@@DankBirdGang52 that’s not true. It was definitely the official depth chart and I heard the exact opposite. I heard Dean was struggling and wasn’t having a great camp. Heard that he played well in pre season games but that Devin White was the best LB at mini camp and official training camp. I also heard Zay won the outside job. All that was reflected by them being starters on the depth chart.

No one really puts 4 LBs on the field with any consistency anymore. It’s more about even and odd fronts. The eagles run both. If there is no trade, I’m sure they’ll find a role for him.

@@marinasands4319 they are LB in name only. Josh sweat is listed as a LB. If you’re a true eagles fan, you know Sweat is a DE. He ain’t dropping in coverage. Bryce huff ain’t dropping in coverage. If you are in a room with a bunch of coaches, they will probably won’t ever mention the term “3-4.” They will talk about “even” and “odd” fronts. That’s older thinking. The league is different now. Too many 3+ receiver sets to be coming out in a traditional 3-4. You’ll get shredded and ran out the building. It happened more against the Saints cause they are limited at QB. They came out in a lot of larger personnel packages to lean on the running game. Most teams won’t play like that especially in the playoffs

May want to double check those HB pressure stats. 71 and 47 were total snaps but 70 and 45 were "Allowed Pressure Opportunities - Non-spike, non-penalty Snaps when participating as a pass blocker". I show Gainwell allowed 11 pressures on those 70 plays and Swift allowed 5. So 91.4% efficiency for Gainwell, 93.3% for Swift and 95.8% for Barkley this year

I see it fine. Fangio wasn't being fundamental and he finally made the change to fix alignment and that was the big change. I just don't like them using a Nickel base shell, especially knowing Maddox is vulnerable and Copper Dejean needs more field awareness. It was obvious that the only way to run the 4-3 is through Sweat and BG on the Edge. If he's gets more out of his linebackers it'll be a good change for sure. The reason everyone was so excited about Nolan Smith was because of his College pedigree, "Only" Brandon Smith and Devin White are as athletic as this man as OLB. I just don't understand the Fangio scheme not being a old-school trademark opposed to the hybrid look.

Yeah I dont know why we wouldn't establish a rotation at the ILB position to work them all in to keep them all fresh. Its a long season and they all could use a breather to be ready for the playoffs. We see it too often in sports where we have any of the 4 major sports built for the playoffs and a key player is hurt. Gotta keep these guys healthy for the long haul.

I have zero concerned about Jalen's turnovers. If you ask any real football analyst like Brain Baldinger or Greg Cocell they all say that Jalen's picks aren't really his fault. At least they're not as a result of bad decision making all of the picks minus the first one against the Packers have just been great defensive play. And I was expecting this since the Packers Falcons and Saints all have top 5 secondaries easily so I think the turnovers are a bit inflated.

15:14 why is this so hard to understand? He got outplayed in practice and preseason, and then, in the regular season opener, he could play. He was hurt. And somebody else took his job. And not gonna turn it around. The defense is playing great. He just needs to do whatever job he needs to do? Special teams? back up? He’s getting paid pretty handsomely to do that.

It’s a very long season and Dean has been hurt last 2 years so there’s a good chance White gets in the game and if he plays well who knows. It doesn’t make a lot of sense that White and Zay got the 1st team reps all camp and then don’t play at all. I’m happy with Q but you put him in the slot for a reason and I’d much rather Q guarding Lamb than Maddox. Plus how would we know how good Zay is and whether to offer him extended contract to be on outside with Q next year?

It's really not at all strange. Dean beat White out for the starting job, and you can't have a back up linebacker who doesn't play special teams and White has said himself that he doesn't play special teams. It's more than likely they keep him the entire season to ensure they have a (hopefully) replacement-level player if Baun or Nakobe go down and at that point, Whtie can be on the 53-man roster and not play special teams since he's a starter.

I say play him and let him show it or not it's early in the season so if you put him in for 3 or 4 games you can switch if need be but unless he shows something even trading him is gonna be not getting what you paid for in return. Definitely not going to get better sitting on the bench. Against TB I'd put him in if just for him wanting to show TB why they should've stuck with him mentality! You know those feelings will be there so put him in and let him play the first half! Then go from there.

Season is early, injuries will happen. Nakobe and Baun have been great so far but there will be an injury at some point. White will get his chance and shine. Then after this season he’ll get a big contract elsewhere and be thankful for what the Eagles have done for his career. Go Birdsss 🦅

I feel like a Baun is a Fangio guy and it came down to white and Buan. Dean was a high draft pick so it seem like Howie is giving Dean a chance and if he fails we have white.

That would be a foolish thing to trade White. He is good, we'll see that later in the season, Nakobe and his injury history is at least should be a "must-keep-White" thing. The biggest question right now I think, that what is going on with Jalyx Hunt? I mean, Huff is less than trash, not a single momentum in 3 games and Nolan Smith is also trash with just a slightly better performance which makes him from less than trash to trash... So probably it is time to try out the 3rd rounder rook, maybe he could do the same as Huff for the quarter of money.... And I'm really curious what will Ross show on sunday and DeJean too!

The problem with Barkley dropping that pass against Atlanta, was the fact that we deserved that unfortunate occurrence ... 3rd down and 3 yards to go ... The clock is an issue for Atlanta ... Are you telling me, that 2 consecutives runs couldn't seal the game? With Hurts, Barkley, and our offensive line? Just poor Coaching when it was needed most ... PS: And dude, to talk about Wilson's and Dotson's catches and yardage so far, is really just full of Hollywood and drama ... It is inconsquential, when Brown, Smith, Barkley, and Goedert are in the game ... Now, Brown and Smith are out ... It will be different, and the BEST POSSIBLE THING that could happen to Hurts ... This video seems dated after today's performance in Tampa. The Eagles going forward get rest, but face the Browns who very well could beat them at home. The schedule ahead is mostly soft, but the Eagles aren't playing well consistently. It's like last year, but this year including missing key players, and no Hall of Fame center to help Jalen out.
