i’ve watched this show over a bakers dozenth times and i only JUST noticed the flower symbolism at the beginning!!!!!!!! there are: white lillies, which can symbolise purity and rebirth yellow lillies, which can symbolise joy, happiness and friendship and idk what the purple flowers are yet but purple flowers can be symbolic for respect and dignity together in a bouquet it’s a lovely way of representing the result of Josh’s journey and relationship with Emily as well as the theme of this episode

So many things about this show that make it great are in its subtle details. I love this show so much I gotta gush about it: [SPOILERS AHEAD BTW] 1. Anyone realize how throughout the entire series, Sam kinda seems to glide over Josh literally going through the 5 stages of grief over the proposal rejection which made it seem like she was coldly ignoring his downward spiral, but in the end you see that she was actually caring of Josh by bringing Emily back to try and cheer him up. Turns out Sam wanted to help all this time while also trying to keep the show going by staying bubbly and positive until she realized Josh’s emotions were insidiously getting so much worse that it started not only affecting him, but his co-workers and the show itself, too. She cared about him and wanted him to be happy again. WHOLESOME. 2. It’s much more obvious in the outtakes (which you should DEFINITELY watch btw because it’s fucking HILARIOUS), but for the other twist that happens where Mark confesses his love for Sam, they drop subtle hints about it in this entire episode, the biggest one being Mark realizing he should take that leap of faith when Sam said that Josh should fight for the love that he wanted to have with Emily even though he supposedly moved on already. Another foreshadow hint is when Mark went up to dance with Josh and Sam at the social wall and Mark tried to dance close to Sam but she pushed him away. Fucking loved that bit. 3. I just love this show. I could go on all day about this show that it’s no wonder why it got an emmy nom. Like how all the guests sort of played into each stage of grief. How Josh’s clothes started to get more and more ridiculous each episode until he reached acceptance. How perfectly they depict the awkwardness of those annoying local wake up morning shows. And most importantly... that MUSIC. I want that social board salsa music uncut, please!!! I know it was made to sound corny and generic for the bit, but it’s so fun and beautiful! It literally captures everything about this show. God I love this show. I’m glad it was created, and I’m glad I didn’t skip over it. I could watch this show over and over again. So good!
