I made this cake and I can tell you it’s delicious. I normally don’t change a recipe and then comment but I didn’t have yogurt so I substituted the yogurt with sour cream. This cake is super moist, the apples were cooked just right. It’s not real sweet so the powdered sugar helps with that. I’ll make this again. Thanks for sharing a wonderful recipe. Yum

My Grandmother has always made this cake. She always uses sour cream. They should have mentioned that u could use either one. U can even use sour milk or buttermilk, which is the same.

Beautiful and easy recipe. I made it in my air fryer on bake 160c, for about 30 mins, was lovely!

I did it at 170 gas fan forced for 30 mins, turned oven off and left in for 5 mins. Turn out on cake rack after few mins. Sugar with cinnamon sugar. I also put a little cinnamon in the cake too. Nice and moist and yummy

I have been making this cake for some months now. It is beautiful. I also use it as a a base recipe for rhubarb, orange and lemon. You need to up the flour about 30 grams if you make lemon or orange cake. But a great recipe. The oil and yoghurt are just the best. Many thanks to the great baker of this .

This cake burns at 180C at 35mins in a fan oven. I would recommend 160C for 30mins. I used an 8in deep sandwich tin. If you want a higher cake use a 6in tin. Also, the batter was a little thick, so i added 1tbsp milk.

I did this today but I dint have yogurt so I substitute it with 1/4 cup to a little more of milk it was just delicious also the batter dint fill my cake pan so I did a loaf and it was delicious so tasty moist husband ate half of it my 2 and half year loved it too will make again next time with the yogurt ❤

U can use sour cream instead of yogurt too. I used sour cream and it’s great. I use a bundt pan, and lots of powdered sugar. Cinnamon or pumpkin spice is a nice addition too.

Great cake, i used soft brown sugar as i prefer the taste. I cooked it at lower temp just to be sure and 160 30 mins fan came out absolutely perfect, thanks for the recipe and user additions

Make sure you are using cooking apples. I would cut the apples up finer as I don’t like crunchy apples in baked goods. It just a personal preference. I would also add cinnamon to the cake. I’m going to try this recipe.

This is a wonderful recipe: I've made it twice, once with Dove gluten free flour and once with normal flour - it worked with both and the cakes looked stunning.
