Nice video. One question. Why not keep the view assist on and then you can just eyeball/histogram the exposure without needing zebras?
@YoussefHallouly
@YoussefHallouly 3 ай бұрын
Good question! the view assist makes the image looks like it’s overexposed and it’s confusing to me when I look at my screen, even though I know it’s not overexposed cause I keep an eye on the histogram all the time, so I simply turn it off, that’s just my preference. The for watching :)

You can then bring the highlights of the skin tones down in post but it might not be as accurate as the method i'm showing in this video. Thanks for your comment :)

Bonjour ! Just wondering, but in the case of of your indoor test where you had a very, very dark background and a dark shadow on the side of your face wouldn't it have been best to overexpose by a few stops and then bring up the shadows in post to fill that all out? Even if you wanted it dark, wouldn't overexposing at least help you retain details in those shadows instead of it blending into the ISO noise?
@YoussefHallouly
@YoussefHallouly Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Well, if I were to expose more, I would have to darken the side of my face that is already well-lit in post-production. I don't like doing that because it can make the skin look artificial or plastic-like. Additionally, I chose to have a dark background, and I don't think there is much noise in the shot. The ISO was set to 800, which is the minimum for Clog3.

@@nowhereland_2 thanks! For night shooting I recommend zebra 1 (70+-5%) on your subject, whatever the subject is. Remember to have good lighting thought cause increasing the ISO will introduce some noise

Looks awesome. What LUT are you using for the indoor final look?

Excellent, merci. Question.
@YoussefHallouly
@YoussefHallouly Жыл бұрын
Salut!

Oh no! Maybe you need to add more light and keep the ISO down, close to 800
@Corruptlol187

You can try with the higher base iso 3200 and go down to 800. I think a mix of zebra and false colour is always good. You really want to overexpose as much as you can.

@@Corruptlol187 Does the R& have dual base ISO for clog3? I thought it only had one base ISO for each profile (I think it's 100 for the standard ones, ISO 400 for Clog1 and ISO 800 for Clog3).

how will you use zebra 1 and zebra 2? or are they automatically mixed together.

You can choose to display only zebra 1 or only zebra 2 or both at the same time, but both at the same time is confusing on a small screen
