Tbh, after playing this and F-5C for like 150 battles each, I’ll say that harrier is much, much more fun that the F-5! I don’t know why, but it just is. Maybe it’s the acceleration, maybe it’s the ability to use thrust vectoring in 1v1s, maybe it’s the missiles or any other difference between the two (which are pretty much everything maybe except the gun damage). And oh boy is it satisfying for CAS. Having my setup centred around teledyne AGS, I still bring the AV-8 rather than the F-5. Bullpups are not enough on this br, and having only them is not enough to counteract lack of CCIP. While the AV-8 has pretty much everything, and even in rb I occasionally switch to cockpit view after finding a target, just because it’s absolutely capable of destroying it from said view and it’s MUCH more immersive and fun to do so. So yeah, personal pick from the two is definitely AV-8 like 8 times out of 10 Btw all other top premiums for US: A-10, TRAM and F-4S are… just sad. Attackers are self-explanatory (except A-6 which excels at ground rb due to it having 10 laser guided bombs and a very nice pod), and phantom has to constantly play top tier jets which I cannot sustain for more than 2 battles at a time

I will respectfully disagree about bullpups, because from my experience they are more than enough at this br. They one shot pretty much everything unless you are cursed by the snail and they are actually very easy to control, you just need some practice and comfortable key binds for them.

Why is F-4S sad? Its very capable against anything that is not 4th gen, which is usually over half of the lobby and can take a head on missile duel with any aircraft. Its tied with F-5 imo, very capable aircraft if you're willing to learn how missile combat works

A10 isn't terrible. it's just better to head on with it than try to dogfight and use ur missiles.

@@m1sz3lpl24 4th gen planes are present every match and always target you knowing how ass (flight wise) the F-4S is compared with their planes. Unless you get the dumbass top tier players who raw grinded their way there with premiums and still have no clue nor the experience to play top tier properly, the F-4S is VERY outclassed. Ofc you can do well with it but you can do well with every plane. It's a matter of how EASY it is to do well that makes the F-4S a poor choice.

The A-10 has a trick: don't go directly to bomb the bases, other planes will going to beat u in that task anyway. Instead turn towards the edge of the map, while still heading to the "middel line" , and loiter a little, about 13-15km from he combat area, so u out of the direct visual range. When the bases start to respawn start heading the 2 closer one since it can easily destroy 2 with just the bombs, while still can take 6 AGMs for tanks, + tehers a chance u can jump in some of the leftover attackers by surprise, do to most of their fighters at this pont are dead or about to RTB. Yes; there are 2 failure chance to this: 1: all enemies are dead by the time u get back and u end up did nothing. 2: all your team is dead (except u of course), so all u can do to run back to base to quit, or die trying to achieve ... anything to make up your time!

Also the A-10 doesn't really requires a high pilot crew skill, unlike the F-5C, or even the AV-8; witch if u want to bomb bases with u can only do it with a bombs only load; no AAM, no flares. Unlike the British, that has a double rack for bombs and rockets, so can play multi-roll.

@@cmdrTremyss No planes at this BR has a good-enough radar so they might think u R an AI plane, if their setting is even above 19km. And I'd never take the A-10 above 10.7, just quit without taking off on 11.0; trust me its the best option u can do. Side-cimbers on 10.0? Can't say I met more than 1 or 2 in a month. But yes, try to avoid AI units.

Im not insane at aircraft in this game but im pretty far into the german tree picked up the av8 on discount and rarely die in it whilst managing to rack up a few kills.i tend to see way more lower level players at this br too.

F-4S is far from useless at 12.0, the ability to bring 6 sparrows with a decent radar is already enough to bag you few kills if you know what you're doing and thanks to leading edge slats you are more than capable to take a fight to anything that isn't Gen4. FGR2 does OK and it's objectively worse aircraft, same with any other Phantom in that BR range

F-5C needs to bait people into dogfights, MiG21 SMT can simply run trains on people and quickly one circle on them to then sit on their arse without any issue. The King on air RB is Speed. That's why the Tempest and P51H are so good for props, that's why the Hunter and the MiG17 are so good, that's why the A10 and A6 are so good (their missiles are fast, not them) it doesn't matter if your plane is slow or if your missiles are very G capable if the plane or the missile is slow. The AIM9D is faster than the R60 after two seconds, this makes the F8E better than the MiG21 SMT and both share very similar engine power values but the SMT is a very aerodynamic aircraft that will surpass mach 1.03 with ease at sea level.

@@kingghidorah8106 It's not difficult to evade a MiG-21SMT in an F-5C, but you can't catch it either. That's why it's a stalemate, if both players are playing decently they can't really do anything to each other unless one messes up.

People sleeping on the A-6E... its the plane I go to if I'm down on luck. If you use the 9L's correctly (which is not hard) , you can easily average 3 kills per game. PLUS its lower br than the F-5C and can still grind rank 8. It is also faster than both the A-10 and SU-25. I implore you to re-think the A-6E, go with 3 missiles and a gun pod, learn how to use the missiles, and its easily the best grinder for US IMO.

The GR.3 has a better bomb load for CAS, but is otherwise incredibly similar. It gets the 60 flares mounted in the plane itself like the AV-8C. If you liked what you saw today you'll like the GR.3 too :)

This plane really helped me grind the French tree. They are easy to kill and I have only been killed once or twice by one of their missiles. Not overpowered premium like the su25 and a10

It's not just consistent but it's a consistent burning engine also as I have constantly been seeing or have been chasing behind one or a Harrier and fact for sure the engine burns out from them OVER WEP'n the thing I have been getting quite a bit of kills in the A-10, especially on the city map cause enemy players just try to attack from the 6 o'clock and zoom right past me and kiss your @$$ goodbye enemy player almost 99% of the time all the time 🤨 But the thing it seems a majority of the time better to use and be on a team without Su-25's and idk what it is but people that been playing the Su-25 😵‍💫💩💩 a majority of the time But i play the A-v8 and its nothing but me bottom tier 9 out of 10 games.
