I thought this vid was going to be about pivoting around switchbacks forsure. Awesome that your vids are for almost everyone who wants to get on a bike and try interesting mtb etc ideas! Only thing is that in my case I'm too old to start in inches and will have to go with millimeters😄 Thanks for another great vid!

A late happy birthday Aaron. You've yet surprised me again with your reveal of age! Hope you know that you've guided and inspired many to get better at MTB/Trial/Fitness etc. You're the main reason I started my trial bike journey by showing it's possible to get better on MTB by learning so. After a switch of lifestyle, trial has become my main focus and all your contents are still pushing me forward. You're awesome! Thanks!

@@SuperRiderTV Yes it was..We would hit the trails each week as a group, and come out dirty ,all sliced up from the thickets, and just get to Orchard Beach to wash off until we got home. I was riding my Cannondale F700, with everything tricked out to full XT, ceramic Mavic rims, with my seat shoved all the way back, and my stem upside down in the negative position. That frame was so stiff I would spend half the time gripping it with my legs trying to ride with the full suspension riders. That thing was like a wild bucking horse,,yet it would go forward in one stroke, up and over whatever I could dare to try..

this is very different to how I was to taught to ride switchbacks and this was really only a technique I’d use if the switchback was super steep like 45 degrees steep or there as some pretty serious Obstacle in the corner. I was taught by and ex WC DH rider and he was much more oriented on keeping centre with light palm pressure but still balanced then leaning the bike over into the turn and leading around with your shoulder and hips and knees and not worrying too much about your rear wheel. I feel if I did this I’d end up pushing the front wheel as soon as you have some momentum.
@nyreppin19 ай бұрын
Just wondering but I was always taught to keep weight on the front tire when making turns. Is it different for this because it's a slow, tight turn? How high are the chances of washing out?
@sapinva9 ай бұрын
Same applies. Normally your weight is about 2/3's on the back wheel, so you weight the front a little more so the front doesn't wash out. The more advanced way for switchbacks is to weight the front almost 100% so you can lift and pivot the rear end around.
@SuperRiderTV9 ай бұрын
What @sapinva said - the steeper and tighter it is, the further back I go. Until it’s time to front wheel pivot, of course. :)

@@mvd609 29" wheels - the geometry on this bike makes it seem like the wheels are smaller, yet you get the benefit of rolling over stuff easier.

Happy birthday man. All the best. I am watching your ride video and there's something telling me that you aren't that good on actual trails? Watching the chase cam it seems you aren't relaxed, there's no flow, dunno how to explain what I see. Am I the only one seeing this? There's no doubt of your skills on the bike, but riding it felt different (to me). Maybe I'm wrong but it's what it looked like
