@Rosalie2204 she used an existing pair of pants to make her template. So you would use a pair of pants in the sizes you are wanting to make. You can also buy patterns online (you would have to print them) or in any store that sells fabric and sewing supplies.

You need to explain some things. Like why you dont'cit the waist line straight and need a separate band. Beginner sewers need to know why.

Actually, although it's nice to know why, you really don't have to know why. Just follow the directions.

If beginners want to improve and maybe eventually become a professional or expert or whatever at something, they need to learn more than just how to follow instructions at some point. Then there’s those who learn best by such explanations.
