@theplantdoctor I have Zeon Zoysia sod I put down last year. I want to do some leveling. What's the best material or material mix to use? I've seen people say fine sand then others say 2mm filtered course sand and then others saying a mix of fine sand and quality topsoil. In this video you said something about not wanting to sand over Zoysia... that's what got me thinking. Thanks for the pro tips!

You have to be careful with putting sand on zoysia. You can't dump several inches on top and expect it to come up like Bermuda would. You can get away with doing it in "layers". Put down around a half inch, let the zoysia completely fill in, and repeat.

I have coastal Bermuda and want to kill it off first before plugging with zeon zoysia (also have some of that). Is ok to use roundup in the coastal and kill before plugging? What should I use to plug the holes in my zoysia if I go the route??

You can use the plugs from the holes you dig in the bermuda to backfill the holes in the zoysia. I do this all the time. Just stick the bermuda plug in upside down. You might have to top dress with a little sand if you go this route.

Great question. Yes!! Pre emergent stops seeds from germination. Your plugs will be fine.
