The Easy Winners by Scott Joplin

To me, this rag has a delicate, soft, and gentle feeling. I was not particularly eager to learn this Joplin piece, but my fondness for this rag grew the more I got familiar with it. Enjoy the wonderful tune!
Also - there seems to be a faint static sound for some reason. I notice it when I listen through my phone, but not when listening on a computer or laptop. For that reason, I reduced the overall video volume a bit to minimize some of that static noise. Apologies for a lower audio level and if you hear any staticky sound! 😅

I had a feeling this piece would be exactly to your liking, calm & relaxed - the Joe way 😎 The rag does have a light nature in itself, so it only makes sense to highlight that characteristic with my playing execution, too. Aw, that's nice you noticed more joy in my facial expressions, it helps that this is a fairly simple rag 😂 otherwise, you won't see a relaxed look on my face if the piece is on the harder side for me.

Heya Jimmy! Nice, it is always a treat to have a fresh new rag with your morning coffee 😁 it is a light tune that's good for these cozy mornings. Indeed this Ragtime has a smooth feeling to it, and is quite calming. I guess whichever method folks listen to YT (computer, laptop, phones, with earphones, with external speakers, headset, etc.) can have a different result. I noticed a weird static noise on my end and my family did too, so I turned down the overall volume a bit to minimize that 😐 I am not very techy when it comes to music recording and all that, I can only do just enough to have a decent final product 😂 Have a great day, talk to you later!! 😎

Hi Natalie, fantastic, its funny but I always hoped you would record this piece one day, I love this, I recorded this myself but like everything I play it is a slightly more improvised version, as I only play by ear so I tend to play things as i hear them, but you do a really authentic job which sounds great, thank you, catch you next time. best wishes Dave.

Hey Dave, I must admit this rag was not on my radar to learn anytime soon 😆 But felt like playing a Joplin rag with a lighter feeling to it, and this was the "winner". The rag grew on me the more I learned it. Oh wow, good for you that you can play these complex and long tunes by ear!! I can never do that, I can only play by reading sheet music with occasional improvisations. Cheers!

Yes, a nice and steady tempo for this rag is best to hear the beautiful melody! And ah, sorry about the lower volume :/ I was hearing a static noise upon playback, so I lowered the overall volume a bit to minimize that staticky sound I was noticing 🙃 Hopefully audio level will be better for the next video!
