The easybeats was not just a one hit wonder. They were the best austrailian rock band of the 1960. They were a great influence on the other groups that and solo artist that came out after them.. Mick Jagger copied stevie wright as a frontman for the stones... Two of them went on to proudes the band acdc. And bon Scott also was expired by stevie wright performance's on stage.

It was a great pity for the Easybeats and for us I suppose, that this great band was unable to get recognition in the rest of the world as it did in Australia. I mean that apart from “Friday on my Mind” and a string of opening performances for the Stones etc, they remained relatively unknown in the world at large. Their music was different to that of the Stones, Beatles, the Who etc. it was born and bred in the Australian scene of the 60s. At least AC/DC brought Aussie rock to world wide recognition!

But some how Stevie had Demon's. Hardly ever does anyone say that he was a great performer and song writer. Thank God for "Beat Beat Beat" - the German TV Music show that has made these great bands immortal for us KZbinr's to enjoy 50+ years later! I've seen The Easybeats, The Bee Gees, The Move, The Yardbirds, Dave Dee et al, and many other great bands - and always live! The better know Beat Club was mostly lip syncs, but this show had a great set-up and those powerful Echolette German amplifiers, which made the guitars and bass sound do good. Having great gear made the bands sound so much better than you'd hear on other "live music" shows. The fact that we cna watch this in 2021 is simply amazing!

@me and me All of The Easybeats, like a lot of Australians, were from Great Britain (Except Vanda, who was Dutch) and came over with the Ten Pound Pom era, like my family. Stevie Wright, the vocalist was from Leeds. Also, as an added bit of trivia, George Young played rhythm guitar for The Easybeats and is the brother of Angus Young and Malcolm Young who played guitar for AC/DC. Speaking of AC/DC - George Young and Harry Vanda (The lead guitarist of The Easybeats) were instrumental in getting AC/DC into the studio and on the road. In fact, Vanda and Young formed one of the most crucial and successful songwriting and production partnerships in Australia of all time. Mark Knopfler name-checked them both in Sultans of Swing - "Guitar George" and "Harry". If you're keen to hear more Vanda and Young they had a band with Angus and Malcolm Young after The Easybeats - Marcus Hook Roll Band ; kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnulY5l9r7VngLM
