This is just anecdotal, but as a gardener I've found I have a lot more success starting my seeds in leaf mold and compost, rather than the sterilized potting mix sold in stores. The plants grow up stronger and more resistant to infection, and the soil doesn't get infested with house mold the way the sterilized mix does. When you plant out your seedlings, they're going to form symbiotic relationships with the various microbes and fungi in the soil anyway. There's no point in fighting what's supposed to happen.
@calladricosplays2 жыл бұрын
compost is more acidic due to the microbes involved in the fermentation process, and that is supposed to prevent spoilage
@toastiesburned99292 жыл бұрын
Compost isn't fermented, unless you're using bokashi. Fermentation is different than decomposition. Certain types of compost can be fermented, like bokashi, but you still can't use it until it's been exposed to aerobic conditions.
@toastiesburned99292 жыл бұрын
Composts pH is largely determined by the inputs and methods used, the microbes present and wether it's fungal or bacterially dominant, and the age of the compost. Fresh compost is typically very acidic because of all the organic acids that the material breaks down into. The older the compost, and the further along in the process it is, the more the acids have had a chance to break down and stabilize. Mature compost has a typical pH of between 6-8.

I typically add a little bit of microbes to the water when I germinate seeds. I soak em in water for around 12-24 hrs, then put em in an open plastic bag in a damp paper towel and put em in a warm place until they get some root growth. I like to use the water they soaked in to wet the paper towel.

Every so called "scientist" that does not see that the universe is a living thing is just a mechanic. His mind can only process the obvious parts of life before his eyes. Everything is alive. Life does not end at the other side of a cell's membrane. A city is an organism too. There is no isolated system in the universe. It's systems within systems, overlapping each other. God is life itself. Everything in life is connected. We are part of a greater being. Religions are just different languages, they are an attempt to communicate this insight to other humans. With science getting more and more of the picture (macrocosm, microcosm), and people getting educated about it, it will be easier and easier for everyone to understand it. For that:☮️, you have to see this:☯️.

While there is no reason to assume that this emergent property will do anything other than simply dissipate upon death, it is fun to speculate sometimes. Personally I like to think that all consciousness is the same, just inhabiting different life forms. But time doesn't exist the way we think it does, so perhaps we are all the same being, the same life force simply inhabiting different bodies.

I enjoy your programs very much. I am however perplexed by you vikkifying cattle as a food source. There is a symbiotic relationship between hooked animals and grain farming. Cattle eat weeds, provide fertilizer and their hooves help break up the soil. They used to be turned into fields after the grain was harvested. Feed lots are where the problems occur. They feed cattle inappropriately to fatten them quickly. The meat is less healthy and tge animals are gassy. Our ranchers farm land not suited to grain - very dry,steep, too rocky so make more land productive.
