seeing both EON and the classic commercials brings back memories of when commercials weren't annoying like the ones they show today because they used to actually sell something unlike the crap that they try to sell you today.

Yes, they were trying to sell a product, not bringing political bullshit like they are doing today. They were real then, now it's crap!!!!

5:18 These lines on EON foreshadowed the actual death of the actor who played Chief Derek Mallory (Dennis Parker/Wade Nichols) from AIDS. In less than five years of this scene the actor would be dead.

Wow, it seems that the Philly ABC affiliate WPVI channel 6 didn't carry EON! I just read that that affiliate until Disney bought ABC and put the kibosh to this practice WPVI tended to decline certain programming and farm it out to independent stations WKBS (channel 48) and WTAF (channel 29 - now a FOX station). Since WKBS went off the air in August 1983 am wondering if for the rest of the EON run thru 12/28/1985, did WTAF pick up EON or did the Philly area miss the final year and 4 months of EON?

@@alexisdiva9 The edge of night was canceled in December 1984 not 1985. No sadly It did not get picked up anywhere in Philadelphia. Due to conflict between the field brothers and issues between the station WKBS actually canceled edge of night in April 1982.

23:57 When having to build sets that would only be used for a couple scenes (I.e., Martne’s hotel room), would Edge crew members ever borrow doors and furnishings from other P&G shows or did they create/build everything from scratch?
@Edgeofnight80s2 жыл бұрын
I reached out to Sharon Gabet to best answer that question and she told me from what she remembers that they would tear down sets right after taping ended. They would set up the basics and then finish it up in the morning with details. By the time they were set up for blocking at 7:30am the had the sets up. If it was a new set, Armondo would go shopping and perhaps take things from other P and G shows but she's not 100 percent certain. She said they worked fast. And had stock stuff stacked all over and would recycle props and furniture from sets that were only used for one or two shows.

I wonder how Joel Cruthers Santa Barbara Character WOULD have planned out if Joel didn't pass away in November 1985 ?? I LOVED the scene with Martine in the bedroom.!!

The only improvement would have been if producers could have gotten the rights to use ‘Last Dance’ by Fonna Summer as his final song!

Any idea how much notice actors whose characters were being killed off who hadn’t planned on leaving the show were usually given? I know Slesar often wrote longer term story arcs.
