Soul Edge was so friggin good for it's time. It had a very lengthy "campaign" mode as well where you'd go around the world map doing missions. I'm glad they kept that in for most Soul Calibur games.

One of my favorite PS1 games of all time. Loved the three different soundtracks, the Edge Master mode, the alternate story endings, etc. My brother and i spent so many hours playing this and collecting all of the weapons as a kid. THIS is where the series started youngsters, lol.

I have fond memories of Soul Edge playing it as a kid especially Edge Master mode like... 1) Having a hard time with the special matches like only beating enemies via a throw, air juggle, time limit or being poisoned 2) Getting massacred at the Coliseum 3) Inferno raping me time and time again 4) Not knowing where to get the ulitmate weapons for each char except Siegfried and Cervantes lol...

+Wannabe_Baby Mitsurugi's one was badass and pretty difficult, if memory serves. Essentially you had to dodge bullets in First Person View. Pretty sure Siegfried's Alternate Ending was the canon ending for the game too.

This game better be included on the PS Classic system!!! This and Tekken 3 are the best 3D fighters the original PS has to offer. The gameplay, music, and all extra goodies totally exceeded expectations and set the standard for home ports. I played this in both the arcade and PS as a young teen and loved every second of it (and Darkstalkers and Cyberbots and...)!!!

I'm quite pissed they took out Li Long for Maxi, took out Rock and Hwang. Didn't even have time to establish all the core Soul Blade characters before replacing some. Rock over Astaroth (although I wouldn't mind both in SCVI). Would've loved to see every character in Soul Blade stay throughout the whole series

Soul Blade here in the UK I loved that game so much I got every weapon for every character during there story mode it was difficult but God what a game, the worst fights in each story are the ones where you have to kill them with one move or throws only etc, the music in this game is amazing. Shame they wouldn't do a remake of this one I found this one to be the best before the Calibur games
