I too think gathering is horrid, so I bought myself a gathering foot and even a ruffler. Its a learning curve too, but at least I don’t sit for hours pushing fabric along some threads.

@@debbiecarter6430got one for my Bernina, not cheap - but is it really about expense when it comes to comfort 😅, IT IS LIFE CHANGING and so worth it. 5 tiers of gathering cotton gauze onto a dress, a charm! It actually make more or less deep/wide tiny pleats, depending on how you want it. Find it more flattering thang gathers.
