To keep the size of the file down to below 1GB I trimmed it to the original 4:3 aspect ratio, and cheekily shrunk Kris's captions down a little to fit them in, but he did a lovely job on comparing the kinescope and the VT. I currently working of correcting the frame rate of some kinescopes and interpolating them back to 60fps (yes, they were actually originally 60i, but with modern flat screen we need them deinterlaced, converted from 24fps to 30 fps carefully, then and motion interpolated to return the LIVE video look.
But this recording is a joy to watch, and I'll be uploading the beautiful earliest TV show recorded and surviving in color - an hour special with Fred Astaire, again at 60 frames per second. Watch this space....
