I believe it's very possible. Problem is - say that happens, the DA keep the Western Cape which is an almost certainty (at worst a coalition with FF+) and possibly even a coalition in Gauteng without ANC and EFF. Northern Cape may even also get out of ANC hands. BUT - let's say the above happens but the ANC+EFF nationally is just above 50% they run the country. That is a recipe for the breakup of the country seeing as 2 provinces simply don't want them AT ALL and specifically the Western Cape (and with the recent IFP surge - by 2024 maybe even the vast majority of KZN don't want ANC). BUT - I believe that's the long term game to get the country out of this mess. To break up like the Soviet Union did but without violence.....
