gajendra lifted his trunk...and realized that only lord Vishnu can save me,and this crocodile is sent by lord to remind me of this sacred purpose of life. As soon as he understood this principle and began to take shelter he became fearless, bhaja hu man sri nand nandan,, So even though he lost the fight physically, and it was not just physical defeat ,but total wholesale experience of humiliation,..right in front of everyone who honored,respected and worshiped him,so lost all prestige,self esteem,every drop of pleasure and happiness he had, his ego was devastated,body was in devastating pain,mind was in complete anguish, and he was about to lose life and at that time he became victorious because at that moment--he realized ..krishna gopinath i'm yours…. And he offered prayers of love ,gratitude and surrender
