@awmperry6 жыл бұрын
There's not really any such thing as "wrong" in comms, if the message gets across clearly. Different organisations have different routines that their operators are expected to follow, but in this instance they've got their own system that is clear, concise and unambiguous. The message gets through without confusion or significant misunderstandings - so yeah, full marks from me.

Great playthrough but I have a few questions: 1. How does he know where to set the needy module without checking the light order each time? 2. How does he know when to let go of the buttons? 3. How does he know which button to press first time on the Memory module without checking first? 4. How does he know which wires to cut on the colour-led-star wires without asking? If the answer to all of the above is basically "He's memorized these aspects of the game manual" then first of all, "Bravo sir!" but second of all, it's time for a new manual!

Is there a way we can see the screen of the others because god damn they're fast
@bronzedivision6 жыл бұрын
There is no screen, all other players besides the person defusing with the VR headset have printed binders with actual paper. You can try with a tablet and PDF but it's much too slow, and the notes tend to get tossed about as the timer drops and pages aren't needed anymore. The only thing shared by the whole team is a com channel and maybe a table if they're in the same place.
@Captain_Sexy5 жыл бұрын
@@bronzedivision we actually just streamed this on twitch and the main person put me in discord with a cam then shared that screen, on discord u can share up to 4 ppl so its totally possible. I would have love to see how they did it.

Also the bomb manual is intentionally unoptimized. Once you learn how the modules work, you can often reorganize the data so that you only need to know a minimum amount of information to solve them, or in some cases memorize the solutions as the players did here on occasion.

I love how much you broke this game down. The manual is an amazingly overcomplicated mess (Which in a normal game does add to the fun a bit) and you stripped it all into the simplest rules you needed, picked out only the most important information, figured out how to fully explain and communicate the more chaotic and misleading elements of those modules, and then offloaded everything that was too much to juggle into other people's brains, took on anything you could manage yourself, and ran that entire system like a god damned machine. Dude.

One person has the game running on the moniter whilst another person is in another room with a comm device and the pdf or hardcopy version of the game's bomb defusal manual. The bomb in the normal version is a suitcase with modules on it and the person at the moniter has to describe the module to the person with the manual so they can look it up and tell the defuser what buttons to press/which wire to cut etc. .
@KyleNally5 жыл бұрын
To add to what XgamerPlayz said, the manual itself is deliberately confusing. The devs have it posted online at www.bombmanual.com/. The game is also capable of being modded using Unity (a game development engine/editor that uses Javascript and/or C# for the code) to add new modules. In this case, the mod places a stupid number of 9-module panels on the inside of an elevator. Here, they don't appear to be using custom bomb modules because the Elevator of Doom mod is way more than hard enough as-is. One of my favorite KTANE mods is the Piano Keys mod, which comes in both Standard and Cruel versions. Apart from having to be able to actually understand sheet music and actual piano keys to be able to effectively defuse a Piano Keys module, in the cruel version one must also apply transformations to the required sequence of notes. I've been a musician, live with a published composer, and we've played KTANE together. We tried Piano Keys and Cruel Piano Keys and, well.... boom..
