I used to volunteer at a small hospital's front desk in high school, and there were three elevators: two nicer main elevators near the front primarily for guests and transporting patients, and one janky, sad elevator near the back that guests could use but was (allegedly) mostly used for janitors and for staff transporting deceased patients to the morgue. That one did the random opening and closing thing all the time, and the lighting was always flickering in it, and it was creepy as hell. I generally don't believe in haunted things/places, but that elevator... yikes. I tried to never use it alone.

I worked at a care facility for folks with dementia and yeah, the elevator was super weird. And we couldn't even use the stairs unless there was an emergency. Best (worst) experience with it was working the night shift, having it open and close and open on me, and then having to almost immediately use it to go help a nurse on a different floor. I work for an elevator company and listen. Listen. Almost every single elevator is haunted. Somehow, someway, they all are. I have seen some crazy shit late at night. My worst was a unit I COMPLETELY disconnected from power, I was literally holding the only power cord in my hand. The buttons started lighting up and the ding kept going off and getting faster and louder.
