I watched a video of you explain why you don't use oil when praying for the sick and I understand it perfectly well. I would like to know your inpute on prayer cloths. Seems like many people, especially large ministries are sending them out. For a few of course. I have seen a few who send for free but not many. Any explanation would be helpful. Thank you

Crystal, the scripture to which you're referring is: Acts 19:12 ...so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. Through physical contact with Paul, the Lord's healing power (Mark 5:30) was transferred to the handkerchiefs. Then that same healing power was transferred to the sick when the handkerchiefs were placed upon the sick to heal them. Now of course Paul did not charge for this! So I would question the motives of any ministry that asks for a donation in return for sending the cloth. My calling instead is to train believers how to heal the sick by using the Lord's authority and healing power which are already resident in us through Jesus who lives in us. When trained believers lay hands on the sick making physical contact with them, the Lord's healing power flows to heal the sick person. Then the gospel can immediately be shared with the person who was miraculously healed in Jesus' name. For me that is the primary purpose of the Lord's supernatural power and authority. Moreover, people will tend to put their faith in the cloth instead of Jesus Christ. The cloth can become an idol or amulet or fetish in which sick people (especially those in the Third World) put their trust. This defeats the whole purpose of the Lord giving us His supernatural authority and power, which is for proclaiming the kingdom of God to those who never heard. As you know, I have applied the very same argument against anointing the sick with oil, especially on mission trips. People will put their faith in the oil or the prayer cloth instead of our Lord Jesus. Our primary goal is not simply healing the sick, but rather bringing the lost to Jesus as Lord and Savior!

@@ElijahChallenge thank you! I understand now. Thank you for the simple way of explaining these scriptures. Your right. I have done the very same thing. Putting more trust in the cloth or oil. I'm still learning. Looking forward to more teachings.
